Ask a Question
Scrapbook.. Stationary???
What should I do with my left over stationary from the wedding??? The invitations, rsvps, table numbers, table cards, menus, ceremony program, etc....
I don't want to throw it away, I want to keep it. But I am sure what to do... Help! What you other ladies do? Did anyone make a scrapbook? I have never really done that before, and I went to Michaels and there was so much going on I didn't even know where to start... Any other suggestions?? Any picture of what you did? Thanks! |

One Week Left!!
June 19, 2010
Its almost here, as slow as the process went at first the past few moths has just flown by. I can't believe that I am going to be married in 1 week!!
Well I guess I think (I feel) this is probably a good time to reflect on the past year. Well - When we first got engaged (4/13/2009) we weren't even sure if we wanted to do a "proper' wedding... know the kind of stress that goes along with it. We first we just going to send ALL of our friend and family a postcard saying we are getting married on this date, at this Chapel in Vegas - and after world run off to a AMAZING honeymoon (since we saved so much money by not having a proper wedding). Then we decided or realized that we only get to have a real/true wedding once, one first time. We know that we can have a renewal of vows and such another day, but our wedding should be something "bigger". And feel that getting married is a big deal, so I wanted to make it one, not just another thing on some day - but a beginning of a marriage. So 2 months after debating, we decide to have a nice, little wedding in our home town. When I say little I mean 100 guests (which I thought was a lot people, but I learned otherwise). There were a few arguments at the beginning about how much to spend, and where to put our priorities. Once we got that out of the way the decision got easier, and planning got more intense with the invite, DIY projects, do list, and just keeping my self on top of the tasks as the they came up. The majority of my DIY projects were stationary related - STDs, Invites, menu, programs, table cards, thank yous, etc. Which was a extensive learning and time consuming process. I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator (the basics), spent several days, if not week, trying to figure out our colors and the design of everything, but (i think) everything turned out amazing. There were more DIY project I wanted to do, but I think it would have overwhelmed me and stressed me out more in the process. Once I get my butt down the isle I promise to myself to NOT focus on any more of the details or any "problems" they may occur - because I know not everything will turn out as planned and will just have fun and roll with whatever happens. I know I need to focus on the whole reason this day is happening - its because we love each - and that's really it. We loved each and want to spend the rest of our lives together. I am glad the "planning" part of the process is almost over and am excited to enjoy our day to be married with all our closet friends and family. And I am excited to begin this next chapter of my life... because he is the love of my life and couldn't imagine spending the next 50 years (or more) with anyone else. |

DIY Wedding
Reception Stationary
So the first 3 photos are of my "Guest Book" to put on the gift table. I saw this idea somewhere else about using the cards for my guests to fill out and then put in the vase. SO that is what I did. The sign in the back says "Wedding are so much more than rings and rice. So grab yourself a pen and write down some advice".
The cards have 5 different options: "A piece of advice..." "You know you're in love when..." "We wish you..." "Once upon a time..." "Or a doodle if you don't know what to say" This way I can scan or put these cards in a scrap book. Very excited about it! The last 5 photos are of my set-up for the Entrance Table with the guests table cards on it. The vase in the back is where the florist is going to put the vase with the bridal throw bouquet. And then on each side says "Please find you seat here". On the back of the Table Cards are their food choice... I have a cartoon Cow or Chicken to represent it. All very cute! Let me know what you think! |
