Programs
We designed our programs to look like admission tickets, these will be handed to guests as they arrive at the ceremony, on the reverse is all our ceremony information, we have made the circus of love larger on the printed copies for a more balanced look, very happy with these!

With our countdown on and my absence I have lots to share, we ended up doing digital invitations, with a few printed for our more traditional guests (grandparents and senior relatives mostly) We personalized an email to each guest as well with the rsvp information along with their digital invite.

An Update
Almost a Mrs
Hello wbc lovelies, I can't believe that I can almost count the days until wedding day on my fingers. I know I've been absent and I want to share whats happened in our lives. It may come as a shock, it certaintly was to me. In early June I was diagnosed with Stage IIB breast cancer after an anomaly was detected, needless to say its been quite the shock, I'm not comfortable disclosing too many details quite yet, I think its still processing but I am optimistic and treatment seems to be doing its job.
We are going ahead with the wedding, part of me wanted to postpone but at the same time, we already have, there is no perfect time it seems and as Dave says our love is perfect and its long over due. I love him so much, he's really been my rock and stepped above and beyond anything I could have ever asked for. We've hired an event planner to take care of the details and trust she will bring our carnival vision to life, we have lots of goodies and I know it will be a happy day, I think I need it now more than ever, we can all use day to celebrate love. To be honest I'm relieved to tell someone what I want and see them execute it, I'm not a natural diy-er hehe but loved trying. We've also shortened the schedule for the day, it will be ceremony to the games which are going to be the highlight of the reception, rain plan we can use an indoor banquet room, and bringing the burger bar outdoors right away instead of making guests wait for food. I think its going to be magical, and the guests will have lots to entertain them! 13 days! |

Wedding Reception
Popcorn & Candy Bar
Dave is brilliant, his latest contribution to our wedding is a solution to the out of control candy popcorn dilemma that I think I have blogged about on 3 separate occasions :P
We are limiting our candy selection to our . favorite movie theatre treats since going to the movies is something we do a lot of and have since we started dating. I no longer worry that it won't all be red and blue (found myself starting to become very concerned about coordination to the point of insanity) So a a quick draft decision on candy: red and black licorice, jellybelly's (or gourmet flavor beans) milk duds, peanut m&m's and junior mints and our popcorn machine. Haha expect it to possibly change though I'm thinking of still doing a banner for over the display, or maybe we can blow up one of our engagement pictures poster size... gotta start wrapping up ideas eeks |

I cannot wait until June to have Dave back at home, its been a couple months only seeing each other a couple times but we talk and text all the time (thank goodness for canada wide fave 5!)
I got a package in the mail earlier this week and was shocked to see a little jeweler's box with earrings quite similar to these inside,the I adore them they remind me of my engagement ring and he had a little note tucked inside that said to the star of my heart... it was really adorable, I love how he still writes me little notes even while away :) |

Go Penguins!
How many other brides out there love hockey?
I have been planted in front of the tv every night since play offs started haha, was very sad to see my beloved Canucks get ousted last night now cheering for the Penguins, avid followers of both and really hope this team goes on because not a huge fan of any other cup contenders. Working on lots of diy's lately will post some of the finished projects soon! |

Wedding Flowers
Lily Love
As you may or may not know, I've have a love for the star shape, (see my e-ring post) maybe that is why I am totally drawn to red and white lilles for centerpieces they kind of resemble a five pointed star. I've decided to go with a florist from the local grocer (more cost efficient and her previous work has blown me away) so Mom and I are both happy about the flowers (huge sigh of relief).
We are going to use mason jar size vases filled with gumballs (found some great clearance candy so we are set) and have two shoots with about three buds each two flowering for sure as each centerpiece. The tables will alternate red and white lillies for a bit of variation. Bouquet wise I'm still deciding though I was drawn to a rose/cala lily combo and smaller versions for the bridesmaids still have some time to decide for sure but my heart is set on the centerpieces.... reflecting on our planning thus far we've made a lot of decisions really early and maybe should have waited on some, other choces we thought were made we've changed, but that is the fun of planning in advance and being surrounded by a web full of gorgeous wedding ideas :) |
