Mother of the Bride HELP
What to do??
So here's the story in a nut shell. My parents divorced when I was four and we didn't see much of my dad. My mom pretty much raised my sisters and I on her own. I was married once before and my mom walked me down the aisle (against my wishes) and met my dad at the end. Well this is my second wedding and my last and I just want my dad to walk me down the aisle. You see I have so many special memories with my mom but not so many with my dad. He has gotten better over the years and we communicate and see each other more. My mom is 100% against this. She has so much hurt and anger built up against him that she doesn't think he deserves it and I am hurting her feelings. She basically TOLD me she is walking me down the aisle no questions. I don't know what to do because I just really want it to be my dad and I think because she is being so forceful about it is making me want my dad even more. The funny thing is my mom has always taught me to never hold a grudge and God says to forgive and let go yet she has not done this. I tried to tell her this last weekend and it's like she wasn't listening and she didn't care. Part of me thinks my mom just wants some spotlight because sometimes she needs a lot of attention. I just want her to play the normal mother of the bride role and be escorted to her seat so I can share this moment with my dad. How do I get her to understand this without being so dramatic and hurt?? Please help the wedding is 23 days away and I need to make a final decision!!!!

Wedding Cake
Our Cake!
I finally secured the cake with the Sugar Suite. Jennyfer was great to meet and she sat down took my ideas and drew up three different cakes. This was the final. Now the top squiggly thing will be our topper, it won't look like that obviously. Phew such a relief things are finally coming down to the wire!

Wedding Hair Style
Hair Help
Ok so I have gone back and forth on what to do about wedding hair. It's normally me doing everyone's hair so now I feel my hands are tied! My mom and I found this place in the Florida Mall called SOHO Fashions and they have hair pieces. Well I was really skeptical like, fake hair...no thanks. But once the lady placed it in my hair it actually matched and looked pretty great to me and my mom. So I thought well there are some benefits, my hair won't fall and I can use the piece over and over again and the place will do my hair for free the day of the wedding. This picture is me holding it up to my hair, of course when the ladies did it, it was secured in a looked a lot better!

What do you ladies think, does it look natural? Are any of you considering a hair piece?

Wee for the Wii!!
Weightloss Update
So I started my Wii Fit Plus last year in November when I weighed about 184....I started to get restless with it and after a month gave up, then in January I started walking and I lost a little bit of weight but not much. So then I started back up my Wii Fit Plus. I have been consistently using it (like every day, I only missed four days last month and four days this month from vacation). I have also altered my eating habits a lot. I keep my meals at dinner small and I always go for the healthy options and no carbs before bed! I don't eat past 7 and if I do then I make sure I stay up for at least 3-4 more hours to burn off some of the intake. I also limit my coffee intake and drink more Green Tea with Acai Berry. Recently I found a Green Tea with Acai called Brewhaha Super Slimming Tea, I have been decreasing in weight by .5-1lb per day. I now find myself actually wanting to eat healthier and staying away from fast or fried foods. Of course I LOVE Chik Fila but it's not always the healthiest so if I want it, I order the chicken strip salad and take off half of the cheese, don't add crutons or seeds and I use my own 1 calorie salad dressing spray. So yesterday I weighed in at 166, I know it doesnt seem like much but for me to lose 18lbs is a huge deal, the only other time I was able to do that was when I experienced a period of depression and I didnt eat for practically two weeks (not healthy but it was a few years ago). So if you are skeptical about the Wii don't be...it really works, but you have to make sure you do it at least 30 minutes a day I combine (cardio, strength training, and yoga) and eat healthy, portion your food. Recently I purchase Jillian Michaels for the Wii and this has been helping a lot more too!

Wedding Cake
Topper has arrived
Well originally I thought I would just have flowers for the cake topper because you know those things will eventually end up in a box somewhere that you will never look at. Well as I thought more about it, I wanted a cake topper but something special that I could keep out all year long. Well I collect Willow Tree figurines (usually found at Hallmark), so I googled it and I found the Promise Cake Topper. It arrived today and I love it! I found it on ebay and with shipping I only paid $23! I can't wait to see this on top of our cake and then lady displayed proudly on my shelves with the rest of my Willow Tree Collection. Ah so in love!

PS for some reason it looks blue but it's not, if you click to enlarge it, the colors should come out correctly.

Wedding Shoes
The search has ended finally!
So I was browsing through DSW with my sister and looking on the clearance rack when I was thinking ok Vanessa purple shoes on clearance...really?? But to my surprise there they were and in my size! Now they aren't exactly "amethyst" like the girls dresses but they are "fuschia", they look purple and sparkly to me and I love them. Plus they have a high heel and they are very easy to walk in. I think they ended up being $42 including tax? Great deal and super excited that I finally found them :)

Ok so I am not really suppose to be involved with planning my Bridal Shower but my generous MOH's ask me for my input and opinions on things and my sister said she wanted to do cupcakes. Well I thought a cupcake stand was a cute idea but they are a bit pricey...so I did a little research and found someone made individual plated stands with old vases and antique plates. My shower has a Summer/floral/girly/bright colors theme, so when I was out with my MOHS we found these cute plates for about $2 each at TJ Maxx, then we found the Margarita glasses and beads at the dollar store. All we needed was a little super glue and voila! Cupcake stands! I can't wait to see the finished product in August! :)

Our wedding will be a combination of eggplant, lilac and ivory. I am not exactly on a budget but I am definitely keeping it under $15,000 (that includes the honeymoon hotel, flight, and car rental) and I am all about sale and DIY projects.
