I am hoping to make topiaries like these for all of my tables and to scatter about the room.
The fabric is something that inspired my choice of colours for the wedding. I am going to use this on the cake tables and possibly on all of thefood tables.
I bought small flowerpots and painted them white. Then, I collected twigs from the yard last fall and spray painted them white.
I got oasis from a craft store and used a block in the bottom of each pot. You can carve out the specific shape, or just use a rectangle and then cover the top with moss or something like stones to hide the oasis. The twigs go into the oasis .
You can the top part a few ways. I used styrofoam balls and stuck then ends of silk flowers in all around to make it nice and fluffy, but you can also use oasis that has been pre-soaked if you are using real flowers. It will keep them alive longer. I've also seen it suggested that you can use a small paper lantern and a hot glue gun to stick silk flowers in the ball shape.
Let me just say that i loe♥ these. they are adorable. I made one for my mom for mothers day and it came out GREAT!! if your making them your self...i'd love to see the finial product!
