Some of you may know that I was sewing my 2 sisters (my only bridesmaid's) dresses.

They have been done for a while, but I only just stuck the pink ribbon and lace around the middle this week, so I'm producing the evidence now.
They turned out fine, but I am NEVER going to do it AGAIN!!!

PLEASE disregard the WRINKLES. I could not be stuffed ironing them at the time!! They hang so much nicer when ironed.

So, it's grey satin, with a 'sash' that goes through the front and back panels, making gathers and then tying a bow on the side of the neck (the bow is kinda squashed in the pic :-S). Then it's a pink satin ribbon and lace under that.

I dunno.. they look better with the lacey shrug I think. The girls insisted on them (my other sister has a lot of spots on her back, poor gal). I have since ironed them and they look a lot nicer!!

All I do know is that satin is a PAIN in the posterior to sew and I'm NOT doing this myself again. They will just have to do.......

Oh Hannah I think they are wonderful.  I am sure they were very difficult to make, but they turned out beautiful!  I can't wait to see your fabulous wedding come together!  ALMOST THERE!

Holy Hannah! You and your sister could be twins! These look GREAT! How proud are you going to be when you see them in their dresses (4 short days from now) and realize that all the blood, sweat and tears you put into them, was totally worth it? The shrug and the lace detail is a perfect addition. And with the pretty pink flats you re-vamped, your girls are going to look like a million bucks! Wooo hooooo!!!!!!

Kitty gal - Oh if I had any more than 2 girls I probably wouldn't have done it. Mmm I think you're making the right decision to buy them!! Not just coz sewing is risky, but because there are SO many cute dresses out there, and you don't have to get them from a bridal store! Use anything that's chic!
