Just wondering if any of you are content with your current size, & do not plan on dieting for the big day.
I hear more about wedding day diets, & how much weight to lose before the big day, which is respected & understandable, but back to the question at hand....are any of you not concerned about going on a diet for your wedding day? Do you LIKE having the curves?
I love having curves. But even when I'm thinner, I don't loose them. I gained a lot of weight between when we first got engaged & now and I miss how I used to look. I tried going on a diet a few months ago, and its so hard for me. I don't eat that much to begin with, and I don't tend to eat much junk food in general so dieting isn't really the issue- its the exercise. I'm not walking as often as I used to (i didn't used to have a car & it was easier to walk in the countryside than it is in the city) and I'm not horse back riding anymore- both of which maintained my weight. I doubt I'll lose much even though I'd like to but even if i don't thats okay- he still loves me anyway.
I actually gained 20 lbs over the past 10 months, & my fiance loves it. I prefer curves, & so does he. I am over the wedding day diets. I say do it for your health, or to feel better overall, but IMO having the curves is much sexier.
I will not be dieting before my wedding. I like my hips, they make me look like a woman and not a 12 year old boy. Besides, I'm focusing more on being a happy bride, not a skinny one (plus, I think feeling faint and hungry on my wedding day is a quick way to make me an unhappy bride!).
Thx ladies. I guess I should share too, right :) My weight fluctuates between 10-15 lbs every other year. I am pretty solid, in between 12 & 14. And...content with that. My tummy is fairly flat, & my backside has that 'southern touch', lol. Seriously, I am content, & my FI loves my curves. I am in the process of toning areas though because I gained a few lbs since purchasing my dress, & I need it to fit, lol! Plus, my regular clothes are all of a sudden 'snug'. So, I will do that much & mainly be concerned with a lifestyle change, not a diet. I am more focused on having overall internal & external beauty. Not a dress size. I couldnt get rid of these curves if I wanted to! :)
I hear you about the diet, i didn't lose all my weight by dieting but changing my lifestyle and choices, it worked wonders and I haven't gained a pound back!
I have a 6 month old baby. So right now I am dealing with a litthle pouch :) That is the only part of my body I would love to work on . But I love my thick thighs and curves. I am in a size 9/10. I feel good. Yeah everyone wants to look good on thier wedding date, but you dont have to be pencil thin to do that. As you stated your tummy is flat - so I would worry about anything. Oh yeah I have a southern backside that I love too ( lmao)
I think this is a great post!!! I am a wedding day dieter-only because I really needed a excuse or a reason rather to lose the extra weight I have put on since the birth of my daughter. I have never been happy with my size though-even when I was in highschool- I was a size 7/8 but my friends were all 5/6 and that led me to an eating disorder- My issues are mental more than physical- But I wanted to say- I LOVE the confidence u ladies have and it is wonderful.- I'm sure you are all gorgeous!!!! Happy wedding Planning!!!
Well me ... I like my curves BUT i am trying to tone up /.. dont want flabby arms in my strapless dress. SO i have been walking with my maid of honor for an hour a day. & then at night with my fh for 45 minutes.. Curves are fab, and never would want to be stick thin. BUt i mainly want to tone and be healthy!. Since the beginning i am down 43 lbs. Another 30 would be nice:=) I am cutting out a lot of sugar, !
I'm stuck in a catch-22. I am currently going through a lifestyle change. I don't call it a diet. Diets are temporary. So, I have been hesitant about finding a dress that I like. In the past 3 months I've lost 30 pounds and I have 30 more to go. I have polycycstic ovarian syndrome and my doctor wants me to lose the weight before we even start thinking of children. I was tippin the scale at 193 pounds...and now I'm at 161. I plan on losing another 30 to get me down to 130. So I am afraid if I buy a dress too soon, and it has to be dramatically altered it wont look the same. Even though the sales girls have assured me in the style dress I like you wouldn't notice. Buttttt, there's that hesitation. If I am going through all this, I want to make sure I look DAMN FINE on my day!!
I love my curves and I know that my FH does too! That being said, a little toning for my strapless dress (which I haven't actually bought yet ;-) would make me feel happier. I'm not really considering a diet so much as just kicking up my exercise level. I've definitely gained a few pounds since we started living together (my MOH calls it "Happy Weight") that I wouldn't be sorry to see go, but I don't think I'll get militant about it.
I'm content now, and I love my curves, but been fit and exercising is something that I've embraced over the last couple of years before getting engaged
I LOVE MY CURVES!! I weighed about 110 lbs when I first got together with my FI, now about 8 years later I weigh 140 lbs. He finds me a lot more sexy now then he ever did. And the dress I chose looks so good on a woman with booty! LoL
I'm 130 and I have curves lol im puerto rican so its in my blood!!!! But overall its about a being healthy and I can totally understand wanting to look your best on your wedding day, and if losing weight will make some bride happy then go for it!!!! Its your wedding day!!!
I also love this post. I gained a little weight after having my daughter (she's 8 months). I thought I needed to lose/tone but my FH LOVES the new curves...he said I've never looked so good (smile). Therefore, I'm keeping it!! (Although, my mom says I need to lose my pooch...lol)
Oh, I should add...I was stick thin before the baby so I guess that's why the curves are welcomed by FH...I suggest keeping the curves to all the women who want to be stick thin...our men love them!!
I am comfortable with my curves, but I would like to lose about 10 pounds, just to tone up my stomach. I have a bit of a pooch as I like to call it, from the unhealthy junk food college days, that I just finished going through, lol.
I LOVE my curves but I must loose this stomach for the "big day" and honeymoon..lol!!! So far I have lost 15 pounds just Cardio/Aerobics and nothing but water
I loooove having curves and so does Rickey!!! Like sapphire2009 said even when i lose the weight they are still there...except my boobs shrink a little :O( But I do want to tone up for the wedding...you know...arms, abs, butt, and thighs.
I think I looked my best at 125. I went up and am down to 140 but my waist still isn't there. When I gain weight I kind of loose curves, my hips tend to go stright up to the tummy. I'm hoping to get to about 130 but if I could get 2 or 3 inches off my waist, i'd keep the rest no matter what I weighed. I don't get curves, just pudge.
Love my curves hate the jiggle :) so i will be hitting the gym i am around 140 now i want to be 132...mostly because my face looks better on pics around that weight...
Im doing a lifestyle change rather than a diet... I have never been happy with my weight but also never had the motivation to do anything about it.... My FH loves me no matter what i look like or what i weigh but im doing it for me. Wanting to look better than ever on my big day gave me the motivation i needed to make a change in my life to be healthier and to slim down and move out of the overweight category. I started in April and as of last week i am down 33 lbs total. about 20 more to go!! Im at 143 right now and would like to be about 120 (i'm only 5 foot 2 so 120 is average for that height and my age) But i am going to agree with all you other ladies!! I love the curves too!!! i would never want to be a stick and have no substance. I think curves help make a woman and i am proud to have them I would be completely happy staying where i am right now but apparently 140 is still overweight for a 5''2' 22 year old girl so im going to keep going until i reach a healthy weight...
Im definetly toning up and losing some weight.. ive been on birth control for just under a year; and it messed with my body - basically gave me a pooch like ive just had a baby!! - which im not so happy with. Im usually a 9/10 and fine with that; just not into the pooch..other than the evil birthcontrol pooch; i'll be toning my arms and back.
I am happy with the way I look. Healthy with curves. I am exercising though to get ride of a few lbs so that my arms & back look their best in the strapless dress.
I met with a trainer the other day and have some realistic goals set to reduce my body fat. I like the way I look in the wedding gowns I've tried on so I'm not really trying to lose weight to be "skinny". I'm doing it more so to stay healthy.
I have to say at first I was dieting to look my best on my wedding day, but then after I had lost 16 pounds : ) I realized that my fiance (now husband) fell in love with my curves and I am who I am!!! Everyone that came to our wedding came because they love us both and they could care less if we weighed 300 pounds or 100 pounds!!! So my advice to all of you girls DON'T WORRY ABOUT YOUR WEIGHT!!! YOU HAVE FOUND THE ONE YOU LOVE AND THEY LOVE YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE!!!
I started out trying to diet for the big day. I never saw any improvements. I may have lost 15 pounds at the most. At this point it would be irrelevant for me to lose any weight considering my wedding is in 18 days. I already have my dress and don't need to pay for any alterations at this point.
But I wanted to say- I LOVE the confidence u ladies have and it is wonderful.- I'm sure you are all gorgeous!!!! Happy wedding Planning!!!
If I am going through all this, I want to make sure I look DAMN FINE on my day!!
But I do want to tone up for the wedding...you know...arms, abs, butt, and thighs.
I am doing it so I can be "HEALTHY"!
He fell in love with my curves and I shall always keep them! ?
ive been on birth control for just under a year; and it messed with my body - basically gave me a pooch like ive just had a baby!! - which im not so happy with.
