I'm SO excited!!! I've tried on several beautiful dresses but none of them felt like "me". I was leaning towards a red gown and tried one on today and finally got "the feeling" that brides know all too well. Tell me what you think....remember...this is a Christmas themed wedding.
The only thing I am really worried about is will they be able to hem enough off of the bottom. The dress is made for a woman that is 5'9...I am only 5'4 including heels. Normally I wouldn't be worried about a hem but there is so much bead work at the bottom of the dress. I'm going to be so upset if I can't get this gown!!!
****UPDATE****
I fell in love with this dress but soon found out I would not be able to get it. Sucks being so short lol. The beading on the bottom of the dress is attached to a different piece of fabric so it could be moved up the dress a little but the rest of the beading could not. So everything was going to be crowded right there at the bottom of the dress and that's not what I want...so here we go looking for dresses again lol.
this will be perfect for a christmas themed wedding!
can they order it shorter?
As for the dress...I found it at www.bridesmaidsgaloreandmore.com over in daphne alabama.
Most stores can order it for you but this was the only store in all the neighboring states that actually had it in stock.
The bridal store said they would talk to the seamstress and get me a quote on about how much it will cost me for them to hem it.
The second more blurry picture that i posted img_0372b is closer to the real color of the dress. I used a flash in the first pic where it shows the train so it looks a brighter red. The dress is actually a wine color. Amazing how just a flash can change the color of a dress!
I asked the bridal store if they could order the gown in a shorter size and they said that Mary's doesn't have that option...hmmm I"m gonna have to call Mary's myself and see.
I think it is my most fave red wedding dress yet!!
WOW!
First of all you look absolutely STUNNING in this dress!! I'm sorry you can not get it, BUT...
My first choice was a Maggie Sottero gown (Jasmina) that I had tried on IN FRONT OF MY FH just for fun, but I fell in love and could NOT get it out of my mind...after lots of looking elsewhere I finally decided I just had to have THAT dress regardless of the fact that FH had seen me in it. However, the day I went to get it the shop was closed and I ended up very frustrated and disappointed. Then I stumbled across a dress shop that I didn't even know existed in that town and saw the Mary's gown above, tried it on, once again just for fun, thinking I would ultimately go back and get the Maggie gown and fell in love for a second time!! This time I bought the dress on the spot! The moral of the story is, although this gown may have been your first choice and you did look absolutely gorgeous in it....keep looking and keep your spirits up because you WILL find a dress that you love just as much, if not more.
~Best of Luck~
