Party time!
Party time!

The Good
=)
1) Most of my bridesmaids slept over with me the night before. The few who didn't were on time which was very important. Having 7 bridesmaids was a lot of fun. They were all great on the wedding day keeping me calm and helping me get ready. All their dresses, shoes, and necklaces looked amazing. I had people all night asking me where I got the necklaces.

2) Hair & Make Up - all 3 were on time and ready to go. They did an amazing job on everyones hair and make up. I had one stay at the ceremony location for touch ups before the ceremony and to change my hair style before the reception. (Nancy Porras, her assistant, and Gloria Pelo Focus on Brides)

3) Bridal Valet - Kayla was my right hand women all day long. She steamed all the dresses and my veil. She even left to go get lunch for everyone in the bridal suite. She assisted with my corset. She carried a bag with my change of shoes, lip gloss, cell phone and some of my bridesmaids necessities. I couldn't thank her enough every time she did something for me. She was always a step ahead in what to do.

4) Photographer - Curtis Smith is a very good friend of mine and I love shooting with him. He was high energy all day long. We did a first look so we were able to take all our bridal party photos before the ceremony. We had almost 2 full hours to have fun and play. He also provided us with 16 sneak peek images the next day along with a slide show. Of course when I saw it I cried, happy tears though. (Curtis Smith Photography)

7) Videography - My guys were on point. They had some very cool steady cam gear and were there but not in the way. Can't wait to see what they got. (BNR Films)

6) Limo - We hired a limo shuttle bus to do a loop from one hotel to the ceremony and back to the reception site. It worked out perfectly for moving the bridal party and guests without a hitch. Totally worth having. (Royal Limo)

7) Officiant - He is one of my fav people. He was early to arrive. Double checked everything with me and even helped get people to sit down in an efficient manner so we would start right on time. The script he wrote for us was perfect and we are still getting compliments on it. (Eddie Rodriguez)

8)Flowers/Decor - I'm so happy we decided to do a flowerless ceremony decor. It made everything else stand out so much more. My florist made amazing bouquets and the center pieces were more then I could have every imagined. (Casa D'Iris)

9) Going to cocktail hour - We made sure to get all our bridal party photos done early so after the ceremony all we had to do was parents and grandparent photos. This was the best idea ever. I loved going to cocktail hour and saying hello to everyone and getting to eat!

10)DJ - Let me just say this man rocked the house! We had people dancing the entire time. There were so many people I've never seen dance ever that never left the dance floor. He truly made our party the best thing ever. (Liquid DJs) He was so good my dad extended the party an extra hour.....something my dad NEVER does.

11) Having a non-booth photo booth - This was so much fun for us and our guests. Our photographer had our second shooter become the mobile photo booth shooter. We provided props but there was no backdrop or booth to sit in. He also had an onsite printer with an attendant who would print the pics instantly as a high res 4X6 image and put them in these cardstock folder frames. Instant favors! It was also fun to have the photographer mobile because he was able to print family photos and dance floor photos.

12) Churros station - yum yum yum....one of the best ideas ever! Our guests devoured this.

13) Wearing amazing hot pink platform heels but having a back up of flats - this worked perfectly. So glad I did both. I was able to wear hot shoes for the most part and then dance the night away in flats.

14) Changing hair styles for the reception - this was another thumbs up. I loved being able to dance and not sweat like crazy. My hair was down and romantic for the ceremony and then up and modern for the reception.

15) Our catering was delicious! We had live action stations with chefs so guests were entertained as well. Not to mention you cant go wrong with an open bar all night long lol.

16) Love Canvas - My mom was so afraid people wouldn't paint on it. We got it back 98% full. The blank areas my sister in law filled in for me. We love it and cant wait to hang it in our house some day.

17) Tears of joy - Everyone loved these and thought they were so clever. Def a must do.

Check out my guests photos to see some of the details I mentioned

Orange The Bad not to shabby

The Bad
not to shabby
Like I mentioned before there are only minor things I would say were "bad" but defiantly nothing detrimental to the day.

Thursday (Rehearsal)
It was super muggy and our venue was an atrium of a hotel that has a partial roof. So for most of the night we were all sticky till we went to the roof top bar when it cooled off and ended up having a blast. My biggest complaint would be the coordinator at the hotel. She was the BIGGEST pain in my ass. Thank god for her banquet captain Manny, if it weren't for him I would have been in a really bad mood. This lady drove me insane from the moment we asked about holding the dinner there.

Friday (Welcome Party)
It rained ALL day. Our get together was supposed to casually begin around 5pm. However, due to the weather everyone was super duper late because traffic was backed up. Plus my make up was in my mothers car so I was stuck up in the hotel room waiting for it to get there. I didnt even get down there till 6pm. PLUS when the guys went to go check into their hotel the front desk gave them a hard time about the employee discounted rate they were supposed to get. So they had to leave and go to another hotel which in turn made them 2 hours late to the party. Once everyone got there we had a great time and ended up partying till 4am including going spray tanning with my bridesmaids at 2am. In the end it all worked out =)

Saturday (Wedding Day)
My only issue Saturday was that the lady who works at our venue wasn't there. She never told me she doesn't work the events. Thank god I had my own DOC and an amazing catering staff.

The Ugly
lets start there...
I can honestly say there weren't many things that were ugly. But here are the things that I could have done without....

The main hotel where we got ready at and where most of our out of town guests stayed, totally dropped the ball. I stayed there two nights and never got maid service. As guests were checking in they were being told the hotel was over sold and the hotel attempted to send them to nearby hotels. This is the actual day of the wedding when people needed to start getting ready. I heard of several maid service complaints, either lack of or the maid walking in at 9am after the wedding and being confused why there were people in the room. Then to top it all off....all the welcome bags for that hotel NEVER got handed out. As I checked out the guy handed the box back to me like it was all good. Lets just say I had a long talk with the manager and all costs have been refunded and problems rectified. If they werent so quick to resolve everything and try and make us happy I would list the hotel name and manager name on here. But they took quick action to apologize and make things right.

Wedding Sneak Peek
The wedding day of our dreams!!
Hi Ladies!

Sorry I never got to sign off officially. Last week was crazy-busy. Here are some sneak peek photos from our photographer and a link to a slideshow he put together. I'm going to write out a "good/bad/ugly" post in a little bit. To be honest not to many things were bad or ugly though.
