Inspiration Board
Color Explosion
I am hoping and praying that this doesn't look (quote from Vern Yip as a judge on Design Star...) "like a rainbow threw up in there...".
I love these colors, but I am not sure whether or not it's just because I have had this picture in my mind for a while and have brainwashed myself into loving it OR it actually looks good.
We started off with forest green, orange with accents of citrine and gold. I then made my final decision for my shoes which are a pair of red satin heels I originally bought for engagement pictures. A little while after that I stumbled upon an inspiration board using orange, teal and red. I loved it but wondered what it would look like combining all of "our" colors.
The colors I plan to use now...
forest green, electric blue or aqua, red, orange, yellow and accents of gold and citrine.
The significance of having citrine in the wedding is it's both his birthstone and my birthstone (for that reason, it's also the center stone of my ring) and our wedding is in November.

So honestly, what do you think about the colors together?

Introducing Myself
How We Met
Okay, so I couldn't think of anything catchy. I will have to work on my blogging skills.

The first time we met was a little over 6 years ago. I was 17 at the time and dating someone else. We arrived at a party together, someone he knew. After he decided to make a complete butt of himself, I went to sit on the couch and just try to avoid what was going on (the guy I was dating was arguing with someone about something quite idiotic). Anyway, when I sat on the couch there was a guy sitting in a chair next to the couch who was actually quite nice. He was easy on the eyes but I didn't even think of him in that way, I was honestly ready to leave. We talked for a while, then my then-boyfriend told me we were leaving and if I didn't get in the car, he was leaving without me. I got up to leave and the guy on the chair offered me a ride home. I declined because I didn't know him, but I remember thinking that there was something quite different about that guy and I would love to simply be his friend... thinking that the chance of an "us" was impossible. I never saw him again. However, that night I broke up with the guy I was dating... I didn't have time for foolishness like that.

A year later, I was bored and went to the Old Pecan Street Fesitval on Austin's most beloved 6th Street. I hadn't been in a relationship or even casually dated for a year because I was ready to find "the one" and I felt as if God wanted me to be single for a year. I think I originally heard the idea from Melissa, but I heard God give me the same direction. I was walking by one of the bars and some guy started walking by me. I didn't notice him since 6th Street is usually busy and it's normal to have someone walking next to you. He waited for me to notice him but since I didn't, he jumped infront of me and started talking to me. Neither one of us really recognized each other. His friend, who happened to be the guy whose house we were at that night, informed Vance that we knew each other. He did end up refreshing our memories and we have practically been inseperable since. Even through the hard times, we have managed to stay in each others lives and we're finally going to tie the knot!
5 years and 1 amazing son later it's finally going to happen!!!

5 years since wedding

I think it's safe to say that, I have been waiting 5 years for this and on our wedding day, I will have officially been waiting 5 years, 6 months and 4 days. I can't say that it isn't worth the wait though. From the second that I met him, even before we started dating, I knew there was something special about him. Little did I know that I would end up spending the rest of my life with the stranger that I had a casual conversation with on the couch at a party one night. Our wedding is going to be casual and fun yet the girl in me, the one who has been dreaming of this day since she was 3, she's going to make sure that it's more than a backyard BBQ with a bunch of friends drinking beer. Though that's awesome for some people, she always imagined pink, tons of flowers, tons of people and a fairy tale castle. Although only one of those things is going to be associated with our wedding (tons of people) I still can't help but make sure that it still feels like a wedding and not a backyard BBQ.
