Are balloons in style at receptions?

Are balloons ins style anymore for receptions? Our colors are pinks and purple and I can see it happening at the reception. I must admit, I haven't seen much of that happening at receptions lately. I just went to my friends wedding last weekend and they could have used some balloons for their venue. It looked so empty without it. i think I would like to surround the dance floor and our tables as balloons.

Any of you getting balloons?

OK, so I am a Pinterest addict and I have seen several wedding receptions with balloons. Only the balloons are hanging up-side-down from the ceiling, so you can't see the "tail" or ribbon. Some say to put a washer in them. It has a really neat effect on the reception! I am an interior designer and drafter and I think it looks awesome, but go with whatever you like, afterall, it's YOUR day!  :D

Its your wedding, so do what you like. As long as you don't do the cliche  balloon archway, you should be safe.
I've seen several parties where the ceiling is completely covered with balloons or atleast one area is, and so is the floor. It made for a fun environment and awesome photo op. Another thing I've seen lately is the lighted latex balloons. They look pretty cool at night are a great alternative to the expensive lighted orbs.  You could also get letter balloons in shape of the words "I DO" or your initials.

There's lots of ways to incorporate balloons into your reception that are current, trendy and fun!

I was thinking about that too. I want some here and there too. I was thinking maybe in front of entrance behind head table etc. The idea about putting on the ceiling sounds like a good idea tho! I wanted stars ( my theme is 'Written in the Stars) So I was thinking about a few star balloons maybe I'll put them on the ceiling, guess i have to buy some for home and try it out! I think it's a good idea if thats what you want!

Balloons with LED lights inside of them are beautiful! I see those at weddings. They look almost like lanterns.

I  love balloons, I say go for it! I agree with jasminedanelle about the arch, reminds me of prom. But I have seen the LED ones that are cool, and also with alecia, great pinterest ideas, I have heard to put a marble in the balloon and it will hang. Good luck, and do what YOU want! :)

You should get those really round balloons! I think they are super pretty and different.
