It's been too long!!
HELLO WBC LADIES!!
I had such a busy, busy two weeks before our wedding last June because I did a lot of the decor & all of the planning myself (with the help of glorious people around me!) But, with all the craziness... time just flew by and I realized I never gave back to my WBC community that helped me out SO so much. So, how are all you brides-to-be doing on here?? I will be posting lots of pictures and how-to's about the little things that I think made my wedding extra personal and special. Glad to be back! Love you ladies. |

2 WEEKS TO GO!
Getting all my bad luck out of the way now...
Good afternoon lovely WBC ladies!
My last post was about our band cancelling.... and I honestly haven't had a spare moment to be on here because of work, our house, etc! I miss you, WBC & WBC ladies! I am still in the process of hiring a DJ instead of another band, but fear not - there will be music at my wedding!! In other news, I feel like everything is going wrong... but better to get it out of the way now than on the big day, right?? I hope so! 1. Our air conditioner stopped working and the bill to fix it quite large, so not impressed with the timing! 2. Our basement flooded last night! The part of the basement that is finished.... so we'll have to rip everything up and see what went wrong... more money & more trouble! I'm just hoping for a stress-free day on June 18th and to deal with whatever else the universe has to throw our way when we get back from our honeymoon! LOL. BAND CANCELLED
24 days to go & the band CANCELS?!
Good morning WBC ladies, I hope this day is finding you better than me!
I got the terrible news last night from my MOH that the band we had booked to have during our reception is now going on tour during that time & is cancelling on me. A friend of mine is in the band and had agreed to perform at our wedding - he has yet to tell me himself that he can no longer play. I can't believe he's known since FRIDAY and hasn't told me. I realize that it is definitely my fault for not giving a deposit and/or getting a contract with the band, but when I brought this up with my friend (in the band) months ago - he said, it's ok - I trust YOU. ME?? Well, thank goodness you trust me.... I guess this is a lesson learned. JUUUUUST GREAT. So, now we have 24 days to go... and need to find a DJ or band that is available & roughly the same cost. I cried a bunch and now I am ready to tackle this task. Any recommendations for the Ottawa area? Thanks for listening (or reading, I guess!) Lol. xo ***********************UPDATE********************************* My friend in the band just emailed me that he's cancelling. DIY Favour Tags
Good afternoon WBC ladies!
I just thought I'd post about my DIY wedding favour tags. I wanted to put a lot of info on these little tags which was difficult to do, but I think I accomplished it! On one side I put a little thank you message from FH & I and then on the back I put that a donation has been made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation. They will be attached with blue ribbon to the pretzel bags that will contain 2 chocolate& caramel covered pretzels as the favour. I used a package of magnetic typewriter font stamps & made sure it didn't look absolutely perfect - wanted a little imperfection in them. Each one was made with love, all 150 of them! LOL. Oh! and my little bird stamp that ties everything together. :) Hope you like them! xo |

Bridesmaids Gifts
Makeup & clutches & hangers, oh my!
Good morning lovely WBC ladies!
I have been wanting to post oh-so-much about the things that I have completed for the wedding, but its hard to log on at work! Therefore, I need to find little tidbits of time like this morning at 6:45am! (I'm actually up this early because FH was just SURPRISED and taken to VEGAS on his bachelor party weekend!! SO MUCH FUN!!) SO! Back to my post :) I will be paying for my ladies to have their makeup done the day of the wedding, but I also wanted to get them each a little something. I decided on purses & those personalized hangers, you know the ones I'm talking about! The purses are from ToonDesign on etsy & you get a deal the more you buy. These were $12/each but then I was refunded $12 because I purchased 4. Pretty sweet deal! They arrived yesterday & were smaller than I had thought, but nevertheless useful & SO pretty! I took a picture in my hand to give you an idea. The hangers arrived WEEKS ago from lilafrances on etsy & they are just amazing. I had each girl's name put on their own hanger as a keepsake. Hope they love 'em! I'm still wrestling with the idea of purchasing jewelry for them, but can't find anything affordable that I love. I'll keep you posted! Thoughts?! xo |

Good morning lovely ladies of WBC!
I just thought I'd share this little tidbit with you since I wish I had done it! The back story: The other day I received my first *mystery* rsvp card. 2 people are coming (1 chicken, 1 beef) but I have no idea who its from! We will have to do process of elimination and then call some people, but it'll be fine. I was telling my florist this and she said she learned the hard way to NUMBER your rsvp cards! HOW GENIOUS! Just to put a little number on the back & assign it to the person you send it to - then abra-cadabra when this happens - you'd be laughing! (It would be so easy for me too, since everyone has a number already in my spreadsheet!) Anyhoo, maybe EVERYONE knows this but me - but hey, just thought I'd share the knowledge for those of you who haven't sent out their invites yet! xo |

IT FITS!! IT FITS!! *SIGH*
Okay!! I can breathe again.... I WAS SO NERVOUS that the dress wouldn't fit... but it does! IT DOES!!
This was fitting #1, and I also bought some Spanx to smooth things out underneath... THE DRESS IS BEAUTIFUL!! I am SO happy. The next fitting is on June 4th... its all coming together! I'm really sorry ladies that I haven't been posting much - its hard for me to log on at work! xo |

Hair & Makeup Trial Results
Good evening WBC ladies....
Right after work today I had my hair & makeup trial.... absolutely loved my hairdresser/makeup artist - she was amazing! The only direction I gave her for the hair was that I wanted a not-so-perfect low bun and that I didn't want it to interfere with my one-shoulder wedding dress! I loooove the result! The makeup is hard for me to judge because its heavy for pictures & the day... but I'm not used to wearing so much. The plus is that its SUPER light & comfy! Tell me what you think :) xo ps. I don't know why the hair pictures are sideways! but hopefully you get the idea :) |

Candles completed!! WOO!
Good evening WBC ladies!!
So my centrepieces will be candles in blue mason jars AND white hydrageas in galvanized tins... DRUMROLL PLEASE...... .... .... .... I have officially completed & packed away ALL the jars!! I decided that the small jars looked best with just stones & the candle. I ended up with 12 small jars & 8 large jars (because the eBay sellers didn't list sizes... oh well!) so the large jars have sand & stones to fill them out better. Hope you like them!! xo |

Helloooo good lookin' WBC ladies!
WAAAAAY back in November, I posted about my love of having the girls wear different dresses in different colours in the same hue. I decided that blue was the only way to do this and please everyone. 2 of the girls bought off the rack at regular stores & two bought from the same bridal shop as me! I made this little collage, out of the two possible dresses one of my BM is deciding between. I think its FUN to have them all together & I can't wait to see how they all look in June. It's going to be so much fun!! Thoughts? Votes between the two dresses? I know the lengths are different, but that's okay to me.... trying not to be too streamline... just want it to be super casual... xo |
