~Our Renewals~ I STILL DO- DO I STILL Updated: I changed the outside card to ivory and fu...
It is really important for Nathan and I to show our commitment to eachother and to God during our vows. We wanted to have more traditional vows, yet have them be personal to us.
Growing up in a family with divorced parents, it was important for me to have us include the "never thinking or speaking of leaving the union" vow because I never want us to threaten or even consider divorce as an option no matter what.
Do you Nathan take Amy to be your wife – to receive her into your life that together you may be one. Do you promise to show her the same kind of love as Christ showed the Church when He died for her, and to love Amy as part of yourself because in God’s sight, you shall be one.
Through the pressures of the present and the uncertainties of the future, do you promise to be faithful to Amy, never thinking or speaking of leaving your union. Do you promise to lead your lives into a life of faith and hope in Christ Jesus, ever honoring God’s guidance through His Word, and obeying the Lord no matter what may lie ahead of you.
Do you pledge to Amy your life as a loving and faithful husband to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, forever trusting in God, for as long as you both shall live?
Nate: I DO!!!!
Do you Amy take Nathan to be your husband – do you commit your life to his with deepest joy as you promise to live as one with your sole purpose of honoring God. As Nathan has pledged his life and love to you, do you also give him your life and in confidence submit yourself to his headship, as you have to the Lord.
Do you promise to be to Nathan, as the Church is in her relationship to Christ, never thinking or speaking of leaving your union. Will you live first unto God and then unto Nathan, loving him, supporting him, and caring for him. As God has prepared you for Nathan, will you ever strengthen, help, comfort, and encourage him.
Through the pressures of the present and the uncertainties of the future, do you pledge to be Nathan’s obedient and faithful wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, forever trusting in God, for as long as you both shall live?
Amy: I DO!!!!
