Wedding Reception
Dance! Dance! Photo Recaps of Reception
Hi Lovelies,
I hope that your wedding plans are coming together. Congratulations to the newly wed and the newly engaged brides! I know I've missed a lot and have been MIA. Married life is wonderful and very busy. Here are some photos of the wedding reception. All of these photos are of us dancing. Our first dance was to I've Had The Time of My Life from the Dirty Dancing Movie Soundtrack. Dee and I practiced every day for months leading up to the wedding. We nailed it perfectly! Except of course the lift. I did not want him to lift me up into the air as I'm kind of a big girl and it would be disastrous if not highly comedic. So we did something unique. We did a forward high jump that landed us into a fun body bump. We didn't tell anyone that we were going to do this so of course when I started running towards him people were wondering if we were really going to do the lift. When they saw the body bump they cheered and exclaimed in approval. It was pretty funny. Our Best Man and Maid of Honor helped out with the dance. After the body bump we invited others out onto the floor to dance with us for the rest of the song. Then we went right into the Cupid Shuffle. The dancing continued from there until the closing with fireworks to the song We Are Young by Fun. Dee and I love to dance. We dance together all of the time. He's the best dance partner I've ever had. Even in my younger years, when I was a dancer and professional choreographer I never had a dance partner that made me feel so alive when I danced with them. Perhaps it's because I'm in love with this one. LOL Since we love dancing we had Fire Dancers, Shamadan Dancer, Fire Eater, and twirler at our wedding. The very sexy fire eater/dancer gave Dee and I a side by side lap dance while she ate and played with the fire. That was VERY fun! haha The Shamadan/Fire/Belly Dancer gave us a belly dancing lesson and taught us how to do a seductive dance. What was so shocking about this was that Dee was actually better at the belly dancing than I was!! He mimicked her moves for me while I sat in the chair and was entertained by the both of them shaking their hips and rolling their bodies to the romantic Egyptian music. Everyone was laughing and cheering. It was a really great time! I'll be sure to share more photos soon. There are tons of more photos from the reception. We had fireworks, cake pops, magicians, and lots more fun. It's just too much for one recap blog. Stay tuned! |

Wedding Day
Bridal Party Photo Recaps
Good morning lovelies,
It's been a while since I've blogged on here. I promise I didn't forget about WBC. Things have been super busy! The honeymoon was wonderful at Disney World. Full of fun and magic just as expected. I will do my best to share pictures from our trip to the Magic Kingdom soon. I'm enjoying married life. I'm very fortunate to be married to my best friend. Dee and I are working on building our lives together and moving on to the next big thing we have planned and that is moving back home to New York to be closer to family. We want to have a bigger family soon, so we plan to adopt in the next few years. So we are doing a lot of planning to make a big move and to adopt and become parents. We are so excited! Here are a few of the photos of our wedding party. I'm not very photogenic and I don't really like taking photos, so I may not look like a blushing princess bride in these photos, but here they are. I had a regular wedding dress and different dress for the reception. I really liked my reception dress more than the wedding dress LOL I will share more photos from the reception in a future blog. Also, I've added more photos to the previous blogs that were written about the wedding and reception. Best wishes to you all and happy planning future brides! |

Jumping The Broom Photo Recap
Good morning Lovelies,
Here's the first of a few recap blogs from my wedding and reception from 2 weeks ago. Dee and I played to the tradition of jumping the broom after the ceremony. My MIL was very kind and generous to provide the broom for us. She had it professionally decorated just for Dee and I. She blessed it with her love and placed it down on the ground just after the first husband and wife kiss. As soon as we finished our kiss, MIL placed the gorgeous broom down, then Dee and I turned towards each other and smiled. I looked back at the DJ and gave him a wink to start the exit music: The Will Be An Everlasting Love by Natalie Cole. Then Dee and I joined hands and jumped the broom together. There was a loud applause and then Dee and I started dancing our way back up the aisle together. You can see Dee's mother in the photo smiling at us on Dee's side. My MOH is my little sister, Laura. You can see her and the best man about to pick up the broom for us. When we got back up the aisle we waited in the lovely field of River Glenn for the photographer to take our group and family photos. That recap coming soon...Thanks for reading. |

Honeymoon
2 more days!
Hi Lovelies,
I have not forgotten about you. I'm still waiting on some of the wedding photos and videos to come back before I can get to sharing wedding recaps. From what I've seen so far the pics from the wedding and reception are nice. I look forward to sharing them with you all. Just two more days and my husband and I will be on our honeymoon at Disney World. We are going to visit Disney World because he and I have always wanted to go since we were kids. We didn't get to go back then, so that's why we are going to go for our honeymoon. We are still kids at heart. It's a great privilege to be able to experience the fun and magic for the first time and with each other. We are so excited for Wednesday. We can't wait to go! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and share them with you all. Have a good week ladies! |

Wedding Day
Reception Teaser...
Hi Lovelies,
It's been a little over 1 week since my wedding and I must say that I am enjoying married life. Things don't feel very different with the hubby just yet, but it is very nice when he calls me "wife". I'm still getting used to calling him my husband. I slip up every now and then when I'm talking about him to someone and call him my fiancee. Oops! I'll get to have more practice next week when we go on our honeymoon to Disney World. This is a teaser to the recaps blogs to come. The two photos I have posted are from the reception. The dress that I'm wearing is my reception dress. Photos of me in my wedding dress will be posted on wedding recap blogs. The first photo is of Dee and I exiting the bridal tent after I changed into my reception dress. I'm still carrying my DIY bouquet and I'm wearing my DIY red and ivory lace shoes. Dee is wearing his tux and had not yet changed into his reception attire at that time. I think he was waiting on the other groomsmen because he had special t-shirts made for himself and the groomsmen to wear. I'll post pics of their special design t-shirts in another blog. The first part of the reception was very nice. The bridal party had their own bottles of Korbel Brut Rose Champagne at the places on the table. Dee and I had our own bottle as well. Our bride and groom glasses were also DIY. I put some sparkles, bling, ribbons, and pearls to decorate the glasses. That was very fun. When it was time to dance Dee and I danced to the song "I've Had The Time Of My Life" from the movie Dirty Dancing. We practiced that dance everyday for 2 months leading up to the wedding. Our maid of honor and best man helped us with the dance. We nailed it! I will post the video to the blog once I learn how to add it on LOL Can't wait to share more recaps with you ladies. Take care and happy planning. Thanks for reading! |

Wedding Day
The part that made me cry...
Hi Lovelies,
I want to give a shout out to sammielynn5. It's almost her big day to crossover. Best wishes to this beautiful woman. I pray that her day is everything she hopes for and more. I'm so happy for her and all of the other brides who wedding day is drawing near. Many blessings to you! My wedding day was last Saturday, July 28, 2012. The reception was the biggest highlight of the day. We had lots of entertainment on top of the heartwarming and most touching dedications. Two of those dedications were from my little Brother and Sister, Barry and Laura. I love the two of them with all of my heart. I'd give my life for these two special people. I've known them both since birth, and though we are only half siblings, believe that we are closer than any bloodline could ever draw us. Barry is my charmingly handsome and very talented little brother. He was an usher in my wedding. He is a musician and writer. He writes his own music, scores, sings, raps, edits, and produces. He sang to us an original song that he wrote. It was so beautiful and well received by everyone there. Every guest was in awe of his talent and charm. I will share a link of the video soon as I get a copy uploaded. Laura was my maid of honor. Laura's MOH speech was the part that had me in tears. I said that I would not cry at my own wedding. I did a very good job not even coming close to getting choked up until Laura began to speak. Laura is a gift from God. I thank God and my mother for this blessing of a little sister. She's my pride and joy. She's smart, bright, and focused. She is only 19 years old, but she spoke words of pure love and wisdom that is beyond her years. Laura walked towards me and my husband's table and set up a trio of pearly unity candles. Then, she went over to the DJ and grabbed the microphone. She stood before us with a microphone in her hand. She smiled lovingly at me and my husband. Laura began to speak with love and confidence. These are her words that brought me to tears: "Dear Fee: "You are the best sister, person, and woman God could ever make. To be in our lives, the things you've gone though the things you have struggled and survived and the things that your going to go though just shows that you are the definition of strength and power! "Fee, you strive to make everyone around you happy but now it's time for you to be happy forever! You being happy and excited is a wonderful feeling for me and Im sure that Dee feels the same way too. Felicia, youve been my role model since you put your head phones on my ears when I was 4 years old, since I didn't understand anything around me that was going on when I was 8, and when I turned 10 you where the one who helped me understand. "Our child hood wasn't easy, and some people would say it was ridiculous! But looking at us now it would not seem like it was for nothing. Because we can say that our past was just a set up for us to be the people that we are now. We are good and better people now because of it. We may not have chosen our past, but we have learned from it. "I want to say that you are the most beautiful bride I have ever seen. Your physical beauty times the beauty that you hold in side you really makes you shine bright! I see the happiness you have when you look at Dee. The people around you feel the love and happiness you share with us all. The people here came not only for the extra activities and the food, but they came to witness, share, and receive the love that you and Dee have for each other and us! "Dee, when I met you I thought you where gonna be mean, (laughs) but my thoughts quickly changed when you started talking, making jokes, and just being Dee. I love the way you are towards my sister. You take care of her, and you reassure her of the love you guys have for each other every second of every day. After really getting to know you, I know that there is no other man for my sister. I'm glad you're with her because she is everything to me! And I am so happy to call you my brother in law and to be apart of your wonderful family! "Fee and Dee, who I like to call mom and dad, I love you guys! So let's join the love that you guys have for each other with a simple flame! Let the love burn for the rest of your lives with each other!" Then, Dee and I lit the unity candle. The tears would not stop flowing until afterwards. Laura and I hugged each other. |

Wedding Gift
Just wanted to share this...
Hello lovelies,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It's Monday and time to get back to it. My wedding was this past Saturday, July 28, 2012. It was a very busy and emotional day. I'll share more about that in the recap blogs to come. I just wanted to share this gorgeous art piece by one of my very good friends. Her name is Alena Spragg. She was also one of my bridesmaids. She is a professional artist. Her art is fantastic. One of the best illustrators I've seen and known. This was a wedding gift from her. She presented this beautiful art piece to us at our wedding reception. It has very deep meaning to it. My husband and I (that's so cool to say now hehe) have a grand plan to live our final years of life in Kyoto, Japan. We've always admired the culture of the Japanese. The language is beautiful. The food is great. The land is beautiful. And when we indulge in our Japanese studies, we feel at home. This piece is highly significant. The fact that Alena was able to capture our love's beauty and dreams in brush strokes and canvas means a lot of wonderfulness to us. Thanks for reading. A few pics and the first of many recaps to come soon! |

1 Day To Go Signing off
All Girls Slumber Party
Hi Lovelies,
One more day to go and my nerves are getting better. With the help of my wonderful bridesmaids and MOH things are finally coming together very well. Tonight is the all girls slumber party. I'm so excited. My closest girl friends will stay over at my place for an all night, girls only, night of fun. These women have been the most tremendous and loving bunch of true friends that anyone could ever ask for! Without them I would have gone nuts over all of this a long time ago. We are going to a spa to get pedicures and manicures and then we are going out to dinner. After dinner we'll head back to my place, get comfortable in pajamas and watch movies until we all pass out. Tomorrow is the big day! Nerves are calmer than they were before because God is showing me that everything is alright and I'm not alone. I'm looking forward to seeing family, friends, performers, fireworks, lights, circus, and most of all my bestfriend/husband tomorrow. I can't wait to see the look on his face when I walk down the aisle towards him and we're ready to say "I Do" to be joined together as one forever. The anticipation is wonderful! All the stress, hard work, blood, sweat, tears, and joy will all be worth it finally. It's been a long time coming, because we've been best friends for almost 7 years now. He's chased me and tried to court me for 2 of those 7 years. I said "no" to him a lot. He stayed strong and believed that we'd be together one day. Tomorrow will be the day when we are officially together as husband and wife. He said to me the other day: "Don't worry about feeling nervous. I am too. It doesn't matter to me how your hair looks, what you're wearing, or not wearing for that matter...all that matters is that you meet me at the alter and you're mine forever. That is all I ask. You are all that I want." |

Wedding Budget
Wedding Insurance
Hello lovelies,
Happy Thursday to you all! My wedding is only 2 days away and I feel my nerves grinding. I can honestly say that this whole process is fun, but very stressful. I'm remaining positive, calm, and cool through it all. Putting all my strength and belief in God right now. Praying that he'll get us through this safely and happily. I do feel a bit more secure since we purchased wedding and reception insurance for a very reasonable price. It's wise to try to work wedding and reception insurance into your budget if you're planning on having an outdoor wedding, performers, over 50 guests, and if you're serving alcohol. We are having a small wedding that is outdoors, but we will have rented items, performers, alcohol will be served, and fireworks. The fireworks and serving of alcohol is the main reason why we have purchased wedding insurance. We got our insurance for a very reasonable price through Accord Insurance. The prices vary and it starts around $75 up to about $300. It just depends on how much you'll have going on and if you want wedding insurance, reception insurance, or wedding and reception insurance both covered. We have both just to cover everything. I highly encourage new brides to consider working this into their budget especially if you're having a big event. You never know what could happen so it's best to be covered. |
