My last post is some party pics! It was great fun! We really enjoyed the whole day so much. It was absolutely perfect for us. Everything did not go according to plan but it was still great for us, fortunately nothing happened that was so bad that it could have ruined anything. We wouldn’t let it anyway.
We did almost have to move the whole wedding inside as it seemed like it was going to rain on the day. I was so worried about that as I have been imagining everything begin outside all along but fortunately the Lord heard our prayers & it was overcast but there was no rain. All in all we had an amazing day, filled with love, laughter & all the people we love so dearly. It was & will always be our special day. So now that everything is over & were a married couple, We are very glad that we had a great Photographer because our wedding albums are gorgeous! All the pics I put on here are the raw ones as the edited pics are too big to load on the site. We have each other & couldn’t be happier. We are in love & very blessed. What more could a couple ask for? So to all the brides to be : Good luck, Enjoy the planning & the process to the big day & when your day is here, Just go for it, Enjoy every moment & try take in as much as you can. My dad & I had our Father daughter dance, which I’m so happy about. A friend of mine insisted that I make sure it happens as she never had hers on her wedding day & she still regrets it till today. Things were by then in such a party mood that it would have been easy to miss, but thanks to her, we did it & I’m so glad we did. What a special moment.
We lastly did the family photo’s. This is the one thing I regret very much from our wedding day. The plan was to do the family photo’s before the reception but the meet & greet took much longer than we thought, so we only had time later on & now the lighting wasn’t that good & by then everyone had put their jackets on. So take my advice ladies, make sure you take all your family pics as early as you can then you know it’s done. I’m very glad that we do have family photo’s. |

We had dinner after the speeches & I can remember feeling like a little girl wanting to go play. I ate my food as fast as I could & half way through my plate I said to Vic “Can I go now?” hahaha I was just having so much fun chatting to everyone & dancing. Hubby & I also did d few turns on the dance floor. It was so much fun, I can remember at a stage I was on the dance floor & I looked at how many people were dancing & I thought, “This is so nice, We are so blessed” We had no need to get people in a party mood, they were all having a great time, and that is exactly what we wanted!
It was time for the Garter & Bouquet throw. What a laugh. We have these friends of ours that have been together for a while & we know they want to get engaged, so we all planned that I would throw the bouquet in her direction & the girls would make it easy for her. HAHAHA it worked Melanie caught the bouquet. So cute. Unfortunately her boyfriend didn’t catch the garter. Michael did, what a laugh, He always catches the garters at weddings. I suppose it was just meant to be coz just after we got married, Melanie got engaged to her boyfriend & their wedding will take place this year Dec. |

Then it was time for the speeches. What a laugh. We had Vic’s best do a toast on him, my MOH one on me, Vic’s cousin did a toast on the his parents & my uncle did a toast on my parents. My brother was MC & Also did a toast on us. My mom also gave a speech which was a surprise. It was very nice.
I did a speech where I said a few things to the love of my life & I thanked everyone & cried almost every minute. My hubby did a speech & also said some very nice things that made my heart smile & he also thanks the people close to him. We are so very fortunate to have so many people that share our lives with us. People that are always there, supporting us, giving advise, spending time with us & just in general, enriching our lives. We are very blessed to have great families that are now all one to the two of us. We loved having all our parents, families & friends around us, to spend this very important day with us. We are so very blessed & I pray that we never forget that or take it for granted! |

We walked into the reception area & our guests applauded Mr & Mrs Da Silva, Then we went straight to the dance floor as we wanted to do our first dance in the day light for good pics & we also wanted a good vibe for the wedding & we figured if we open the dance floor early then the guests would get in a party mood earlier & boy did it work. The dance floor was full most of the night & the people had a great time!
So our first dance was so much fun. We started dance lessons a few months before & felt pretty confident, We were just worried about my dress as it was big. It was quite a challenge as every time I turned the dress didn’t turn back quite as fast as I did so we laughed all the way through. It was so much fun. I can remember at a stage we were dancing & I kissed Vic, I’ll never forget the guest all going “aaahhhh”. I thought that was nice. I couldn’t help but giggle. Vic & I chatted almost the whole song through. It is a moment that will always be very dear to my heart. |

I loved having to kiss him all the time for the photo’s. We had to hold hands, & hold each other, look into each others eyes. It was the perfect thing to do after a wedding. We were so happy. It was a absolute pleasure. |

So after sending one of the groomsmen to get us a drink, we went to go take all the couple & bridal party photo’s. This was sssooo much fun!
The guys were up first to take their “just boys” pics. The guys looked so good, my husband more than anyone, of course. They were having such a great time & I love that my hubby had his crew with him for all of that. As for me, It was nice to have a moment just with the girls, to just take a breath for a moment & take everything in that had happened so far. We chatted like mad! |

Then it was off to cut the cake. Believe it or not but we actually had quite a time cutting the cake, the marzipan was so hard that we struggled but all the guests raved about the cake & said it was delicious! I had a 4 tier cake of which one layer was a bead layer, loved it!
Because the wedding was outside we did as much as we could while we still had some daylight. So we served the cake with the snacks & cocktails. The seating chart was also by the snacks so people could see where they sat. The chart was supposed to be different but I love the way it came out! The photobooth was also close to the snacks so people could take pics while we were off taking photo’s. |
