Good News!
My mom and I talked. She said she shouldn't have reacted like she did and told me she was willing to give me money for my dream dress! I can't wait! I will be back next week to show you pictures of it!! I go try it on on Thursday of next week! Thanks to everyone who showed your support while I was going through that rough time!
(Not in red of course! I joked with my FH saying that I was getting a Red Dress because ' the jig is up' ... LOL ) |

In a fight
So, It took a lot of courage but I finally told my mom that I wasn't happy with my dress... she told me I was being 'unreasonable' and to call her back when I had my head together.
My mother and I are really close so this is really hard on me. I just don't want to settle otherwise I will feel bad about it forever. I can't return the other dress (it was on sale for $300) ... what would you do? |

Minus One Bridesmaid
So, this happened a while ago but I feel the need to vent. Let's start at the beginning.
I moved to Toronto to study Fashion at Seneca College. While there I made many friends, one of which I kept out of college. She was a great friend and we did a lot together. Our friendship even survived her moving back home for a couple months(back home is not a place I can go visit on a regular basis). ANYWAY, she moved back here with her boyfriend and I got her a job at the place I worked at at the time. We saw each other everyday and got closer and closer. When Rob proposed I think she was more excited than I was. She seemed so happy for me. Rob had let her in on the proposal by asking her opinion of the ring. She had the feeling he was going to propose in Nova scotia so the night before she left she said 'call me when he proposes'. SO, when I was in Nova Scotia, she was the 2nd person I called (had to call my mom first). and asked her to be my bridesmaid. When we got back she told me that her and her boyfriend had visited a ring shop and they had ordered an engagement ring. I am good friends with him so I was very happy for them. When he finally got the ring he showed me before he proposed. ANYWAY, one morning while I am getting ready for work I get a text message that says ' I can't come to work today, 'Bob' and I ended everything'. I called her up right away and she was in shock. didn't really say much, so I called work, said I would be late and I RAN over to see her. I wont bore you with the details but I will tell you he decided this isn't what he wanted and she decided the best thing was to go back home. I said I supported her and if she needed a place to stay she was more than welcome to come over and stay with My fiance and I. That night, while at home and WORRYING because I hadn't heard anything from her, I get another text message saying ' we resolved everything'. ?!!?!?!?!?! I was SHOCKED and APPALLED. I didn't know what to say but I didn't want to judge so I just told her not to let her guard down and put things on hold for a while. When I went back to work the next day, she had her engagement ring back on. I was a little pissed because I thought it was incredibly inappropriate. Anyway, I quit that job a few weeks later to take up something else so I didn't see her as much. Her and her 'fiance' came out for my birthday and acted totally distant. It wasn't hard to tell because there was only 5 of us out for dinner. Not to mention she didn't bring me ANYTHING for my birthday not that it's a big deal, but I didn't even get a card? NOT IMPORTANT but a fact. Anyway, we planned to go out for coffee later that week. When the day rolled around I went to call and figured I should check if she was online first (considering she acted so odd at dinner and I hadn't heard from her since) So I popped on Facebook and saw her status. 'Back Home' ???? WTF???I messaged her on facebook asking what was going on and popped on MSN and checked for her. She wasn't on but her fiance was, so I asked him what was going on. I told him that I was feeling a little used because I was there for her the whole time she was upset and now that things had changed she wouldn't talk to me? He wouldn't tell me anything?? I waited and waited and I never got an answer back from her. 2 weeks later I message her back. ANGRY now... I told her how I felt completely used and so on and so forth. She messaged me back this time. She told me her life was no business of mine and I was a selfish person. That I only thought of myself and i only ever talked about Rob and I. I messaged back, this time with a simple message. 'I don't think we have the same idea of what friendship is, I wish you the best in the future' and that was that. I asked my sister to replace her in the wedding (which turned out to be the best thing I have ever done!) and I haven't spoke to her since. I am glad I found out now and not closer to the wedding and I am glad I stood up for what I believe in and I didn't buckle. But I feel horrible that I lost a friend. I am too headstrong to message her again so I don't know why I still feel bad? Any thoughts ladies? I am a very caring person and I worry a lot! I tend to over think things ... it's just who I am. |

I am so excited for all the colour at the wedding. My main colour is yellow but I am doing a raspberry pink accent! Let me know what you guys think! I am opting for smaller bouquets because I love the tiny bouquet with big flowers look. Not to mention the fact that I can't justify spending insane amounts of money on something that dies!
