Wedding Reception
Reception Venue Booked!
Today my mom came up to look at the venue I really liked for my wedding reception and we booked it!! The venue is called the DC Centre in Omaha, NE. It is a ballroom dance and reception facility and very nice. It is very close to where we live and also the church! :)
Here are some pics of the place so ya'll can get an idea of what it will look like. Also the date is now OFFICIALLY set 6/9/12!! Whoo hoo! |

Engaged!!
I am so happy to be marrying my best friend! Andrew proposed on our 4 year annaversary 12/12/10.
I absolutely LOVE my ring! It is a cushion cut diamond and the band is very thin with small pave diamonds in it. Our Story: Andrew and I have have been dating since the beginning of our sophomore years of college (4 years now!). We met at a Husker football tailgate through our sorority/fraternity friends. It really was love at first sight. We started talking and hit it off right away! We ended up siting next to each other at the football game, and held hands. I mean, who just meets someone then ends up holding hands with them at a college football game?! I remember telling my mom that I met a great guy named Andrew. After the football game, he asked me to go to a cowboy-themed fraternity party called Dames and Desperadoes. I said yes of course! That week, we went on a couple dates to get to know each other better before Dames and Desperados. We went to eat at Applebee's and also to a movie. I remember he was such a gentleman and we practiced country dancing outside so we would look cool at this party. Our first kiss was one week after we met, at Dames. We dated for a few months before we became "facebook official" at his winter formal 12/12/2006! We have since dated all through our sophomore, junior and senior years of college, graduated together and now both starting our careers in the same city. He is my best friend and I am so looking forward to what the future has in store for us next! :) The proposal: I knew that a proposal was coming up soon, since we had been ring shopping to get an idea of what I liked. I thought it would definitly be Christmas because he kept saying "this will be a big Christmas". Our annaversary popped up two weeks before Christmas and we had a low key day, went to church, had lunch with my grandma, ran errands, etc. Andrew wanted to go out to dinner, and I said first I wanted to go to the Victoria's Secret after-hours sale to get some Christmas gifts sale priced, then we could go to dinner. When I got back from shopping, I opened up the door to my apartment, and the lights were off and there was a soft cadlelight all through the living room (he had lit over 75 votive candles!) Right in the middle of the room there were all these candles in the shape of a heart. Right in the doorway, Andrew was waiting on one knee for me to open the door. Of course when I opened the door I dropped my bags!! I got the sweetest speech about how he wanted this to be more than than our 4 year annaversary, but the day he asked me to marry him and the beginning of the rest of our lives together and many more romantic things! We both cried and kissed and called our families to tell them the exciting news and we didn't even end up going to dinner LOL. It was an amazing, surprising proposal. |
