Hello,
Soooo I have been looking around at florists in the city and WOWWZZAS!!!! Crazy expensive...
And well if you have been reading my blogs I have been watching very carefully what I am spend... I don't have the biggest budget, so I have been looking at cost effective ways of saving money... Plus I do want to be "Green" lol
And flowers wow...
Realistically I would like to find a local flower dealer to buy my flowers from and then do the centerpieces and bouquets and everything... well with help from my beautiful bridesmaids and a few friends... My friend Allison has taken some classes and she knows what she is doing (for my birthday last feb. she made me a tiny bouquet - LOL - she's the best) So Allison has already offered to help with the flowers... so thats GREAT... and really I think we can get them all done... - of course I think we will do a little mock up of the bouquets.
BUT... now it's just finding a place to buy flowers locally.
My mom's friend used to grow and sell flowers - originally I was going to buy from her..... But she doesn't grow flowers no longer....
Sooo I am back to square one... Hmmmmm,...
I was thinking of growing to the local farmers market to see if I could work out something with one of the flower vendors there...
Do any of you WBC brides have any ideas of where I could go?
And are any of yours attempting to do your own flowers??
Or if you have any ideas or advise it would be very welcomed!
Thanks Bunches Ladies! And Happy Thursday! YAY the week is almost over!!!

the wholesalers may help as sweetiatina said!
Good luck darlin!
They have great deals and they actual have certified florests who do the wedding packages. Thats where I plan to go.....
My sister has a neighbor who is a florist..and she's going to instruct us on what to do and where to get the supplies from.
Good luck!
I wanted huge dahlias for my centerpieces, so I looked up dahlia clubs in the area and it listed some of the local farmers.
I called one of them and she gave 100 huge blooms for $40, they would have cost me $500 if I had ordered through my sister. (she's a florist, and that was without any extra charges).
If you want a unique flower, definitely call around to clubs and farmers, if you want more standard flowers like roses, gerbers or hydrangea you can't beat costco.
I went with real touch silk flowers since peonies are so hard to get in December plus i can make them ahead of time and they look soooooo pretty! I just finished my bridal bouquet and sent the picture to one of my girlfriends to see what she thought of it...she replied "i thought you were going with silk flowers????"
She thought my silk bouquet was actually real....that's how nice some of the real touch flowers are. You might want to check in to them. Doing your own arrangements in the last 2 days before the wedding can be very very stressful and you will already have enough on your plate without playing florist! If you do decide to go with real flowers and the DIY approach more power to you and good luck!
Thanks for all the great advise girls I will make sure to post again once I found out what the heck I'm gonna do!!! BIG THANKS!!!
