Wedding Favors

to splurge or not to splurge!

It depends on how tight your budget is, I would do the plantable butterlies because that is a really neat idea and the tags shouldn't cost too much if you make them yourself. But the chocolate is nice too, I think it woud be enough too it that's what you choose.

Simple Answer : Make your own butterflies. Collect old newspapers and tear them into small pieces. Add to a blender in small amounts with water. Water should be double the amount of paper. Add food coloring for color.  Blend mixture till fine. Purchase a canister of mixed flower seeds (usually can be found at wallmart) and add a little bit in. Do a quick blend just to cause a mix. Take mixture and dump a thin amount onto a mesh sceen (you can find instructions online to build your own) until it is completely covered. Allow to dry (best to stick in a sunny spot). Cut out your shapes (create a template or use a cookie cutter to get replicates). Hole punch to tie a ribbon on.

Make your own template would be cheaper and DIY. Sometimes some people don't have the patience or time to create thier items. If you have the time and the patience, go for it! During the process of planning our wedding last May, I DIY'er tons of projects. I was tired, but it was all well worth every penny. Good luck! You could probrably make it into a little gathering party with the girls or men?  Have a few appetizers, drinks and fun! Make it fun!

i'd probably go with the butterflies. as a guest, 1 piece of chocolate would not be enough for me.

It depends how important having a favor is to you. I guess you could say we're not really giving our guests favors. Everyone is getting a hand folded crane (cost: $0.01/ea oh yeah cheap!) at their place setting, and we'll offer Chinese take-out boxes so they can take a cupcake home, but that's it. So, I would not spend an extra $100 on favors. I wouldn't even spend 64!!
However, if you think favors are really important, then I think I like the butterflies better. If you have the time, though, I would definitely try out "wedding obsessed's" idea.

I love the idea of making them on my own, but the time just isnt there for that, I am in law school and have finals that start in April which means studing actually starts in March and I work full time.  Just not enough hours in the day.  

I am doing the favors really because I feel like I have to I guess.  I know that sounds bad and I dont mean it to be! lol We will probably go with the butterflies just because I like them better and I also would just be mad with one piece of chocolate! I am a chocolate lover! lol  I like the paper crane idea and the to go box where the guest can take a cupcake, see that in itself seems like a favor to me because I would love that and your not wasting anything!  FH and I are going to talk about it tonight, I will prob. still get the bubble stickers tho!  Thanks again!

i would do the butterflies.... the chocolates look really small! if you wanted chocolate you can do your own chocolate bars and DIY the wrappers
