Hello WBC sisters :),
Congrats to all those who crossed over last weekend, God bless you and your marriages, may they be filled with Gods love and peace :) This coming weekend my girl Beth AKA Philly'sgirl is getting married im super excited for that and will definitely post :))) Well Hubby and i before we got married were planning on having our first child after a year of being married BUT immediately after the wedding we were too excited we wanted to have a baby lol we have been together a total 6 years this year and being together has been our dream since the first day we saw each other and fell inlove ;) Last week i wasnt feeling too well and i was late for my period by 4 days, i went to the hospital for a check up and the pregnancy test came out positive :)))) we were super excited hubby and i, in as much as we were planning it we were pleasantly surprised :) So yesterday i went for my first scan and the doc was able to estimate that i am 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant :) i will be going for another scan during my 8th week :) When i saw the scan (see picture attached) i got scared cause i couldnt see anything lol the doctor said this is normal because at this stage the only thing that can be detected is the yolk sac (the little circle in the picture) since the baby is as tiny as a sesame seed hahahahhaa even after he said this i still went ahead to google it hahahaha and low and behold he was telling the truth lol Just thought i should share with yall the good news :) you ladies have been a part of my life since 2009 when i started the wedding planning journey and this news marks another chapter in my life that you're a part of :) God bless you all and i love yall!!!! Its not face book official yet lol so those of you who are my friends on face book please try to keep the news away from facebook until i inform everybody else by my 2nd-3rd month :) xoxoxoxoox |

Oh man i miss this place!!! I miss wedding planning, i miss reading posts i just miss being on this site! I try to get on as much as i can and comment on a few posts here and there doing my best to stick to my promise to the lovely 2012 faved brides who havent crossed over yet. I LOVE YOU ALL!!

Bishop made us laugh here and there :) our Bishop and his wife and their assistants :) i love this man! time to exchange vows!! Im forever grateful to God for this day the 7th of April 2012, it was the best day of my life! Thank you to all the brides that gave me support in one way or the other i'll forever cherish you all!!. I miss posting so bad! what am i going to do now that the wedding is passed???? Gosh! Everything went according to plan we really had a ball :) the only glitch that was there is that i was late for the church service by 30 minutes :( but everything else is as we planned thank God He really and i mean really made it happen for us without Him our day wouldnt have been the way it was.  Mom making sure the decor is set for the day :) my sitting area :) i loved my sitting area :) chairs and tables decor decor :) SAM_2188 more gifts from the family :) mom's muffins for desert :) hmmmm some polony and ham to snack on :) aunty and gran ma looking at the display of gifts :) and then the gifts came strolling in whooo :) my friends dressed as ushers bringing in more gifts :) the MC for the day :) more gifts :) mom and aunty's greeting guests :) mom :) MC :) mom and aunty's bringing me in while singing traditional songs :) thats me in the middle all covered up as tradition demands :) headed to my sitting area :) my beautiful mother in law looks on :) thats me all covered up next to my traditional counsellor :) more gifts for princess Chrissty :) my husbands cousin's came in to present a gift to me and unveil me :) lovely gifts they had for me from my hubby :) let the unveiling begin ;) and there i was ;) me all humble and what note lol :) me and my traditional counsellors :) my mom and mother inlaw being introduced to the guests. Hello there lovelies :) (long post WARNING) lol
So i never got the chance to post pictures of my bridal shower but i promised i would so here they are :) couldn't post all of them they were too many lol but this will do ;) I also promised to also explain the progression or the bridal shower Zambian style lol so here it is: First the guests arrive as usual lol then relax, take their seats and are served with drinks as they wait for the program to begin :) Bridal showers here have a woman in charge who we call a matron :) she acts as the MC of the day, her responsibility is to entertain the guests and run the program (see pictures) So after the guests arrive and settle down, there is usually an opening prayer from either a church representative or a family representative from the brides side :) when the opening prayer is done the matron announces the arrival of the bride (see pictures) Tradition in tells that as the bride is coming into the hall of the bridal shower she is covered with a wrapper big enough to cover her entire body so that no one can see her :) this represents the concept that she is a gift, a brand new gift to her soon to be husband therefore she can only be unveiled by her husbands family after they pay some money to unveil her. when the bride takes her seat which is usually on the floor as a sign of humility, the matron announces the arrival of the grooms family. since its a bridal shower only women can come that means, sisters, cousin's, aunty's, gran ma's, mothers, and other female family folk. Upon their arrival they make their way to the front where the bride is sited with her traditional counsellors (see pictures) and they need to have with them gifts from the groom to the bride. These gifts are usually bouquets of flowers, fruit baskets, chocolate and the like. when they reach the brides sitting area the matron asks them to put some money on the floor before unveiling the bride, this represents her worth and "brand newness" lol. When the matron is satisfied with the amount they put up the grooms family then begins to unveil the bride (see pictures). After unveiling her they present her with the gifts they brought along and proceed to take their seats :) After the unveiling the matron begins to tell the guests about the bride, ushering her to praise about her beautiful looks and so forth. Thereafter the guests are served with food :) After this the matron begins to call the guests one by one to come and show the bride what gift they bought her and what role it plays in the kitchen :) after explaining this to the bride each person is required to dance :) When this is over, the bride is supposed to present gifts to the people that have contributed tremendously to her up bringing as well as her mother inlaw, the gifts can be whatever the bride thinks those people would love and appreciate. When presenting these gifts the bride as per tradition is expected to kneel as a sign of respect :) Once this is done the bride is taken round to see all the gifts that were bought for her. The family representative taking her round explains the functions of some of the gifts :) When this is over you may as well call it a day, the Matron or MC for the day announces an open floor for people to come to the front, greet the bride and take pictures with her :) My bridal shower was on the 24th of March 2012 it was one of the best day's of my life *cant beat the day i said i do hahahaha* will be posting my weddings pictures this coming week whooooo!!! what do you ladies think? |

I dont even know where to start when it comes to Sabrina!!! Sissy you have been a sister and a best friend to me and many others on this site im sure :), you're strong, beautiful, confident, God fearing, positive, prayerful, caring, honest, patient, happy, confident, humble, wise, loving, kind, gracious and wonderful!!! These words alone do not completely describe who you are to me, I love you so much and I am forever grateful to Wedding By Color for bring me a sister i never had and never thought i would ever have! Our times of interaction on this site and outside of this site are times i will forever cherish but more so TOMORROW the day you say i do because it is the very reason i got to know you :). Our weddings have brought us close and introduced us to the true meaning of friendship and sister hood that goes beyond the dates we marry. I bless the day you will be marrying the love of your love! So here's a message of well wishes, wishing you all the best on your day tomorrow, you deserve the best and my darling the best you WILL get! Its gonna be a beautiful wedding filled with love, peace, happiness and the presence of God. You and Sergio have been through so much during this wedding process and before. Everything you have been through has brought you to this day, God saw it all and He kept you sane for this day, He saw it all and He kept you strong for this day, He saw it all and He promised to never leave, He saw all your heart ache and upheld you all for the sake of His promise concerning this day that's why it's going to be an amazing day, because the maker of heaven and earth will leave His throne just to see you say i do then He will say AMEN!!!!! ok i had typed out a VERY LONG POST with ALL the details about the wedding but it wasn't posted so now were do i start from???
Hi ladies im back and im mrs Chela whoooo hooooo!!! I've been trying to get on WBC for so long now but whenever i tried to post something it either wouldn't let me post the pictures or wouldn't save my blog ;( so i decided to give it some time and here i am :) I missed you all so much i know you lovely ladies have definitely done a lot i cant wait to read about it :) So yah our day was simply amazing!!! it was wonderful everything we wanted it to be and even more. I wish i could get into all the details but i leave that for another day, all i can say is all the planning and sweating and ranting and tears and nightmares and laughter and joy and all that was involved in the planning process was WORTH IT! you only get to understand why things happen the way they happen when you have the final product :) Just a little advise to you wonderful sisters of mine who haven't crossed over yet :) MAKE SURE YOU TREASURE EVERY MOMENT, SECOND, MINUTE AND HOUR of your wedding day. I have never seen time fly so fast in my life the day just passes by within a matter of minutes funny enough. so dont waste your time worrying about your day on the actual day instead enjoy it, if things are not in place the way you wanted them to be in place then they were not meant to be in place, move on and smile. You can only do so much. so enjoy, smile, dance and laugh like there's no tomorrow, this day is once in a life time unless you intend to do it again. WBC wont let me post pictures ;( so here are three pictures from the morning of when i was getting my hair and lashes done. I'll post the pictures soon i promise!! Those of you that are my friends on facebook have seen a few pictures my husband and i were tagged in but i am yet to post the pro pic's. Love yall!! Mrs Chela! |

My BM's and a couple of friends are organising a hen night for me to take place this coming Saturday :) super excited. It wont be much because i don't drink alcohol and neither do they so we'll go out and grab a bite, have some karaoke, a few drinks (non alcoholic) dance a little then the night will be over :) i dont know if they're arranging any games guess i'll find out on Saturday haha!
