MRS. TEEMS is in the houuuusssee!!
Well I just returned from my symbolic ceremony & honeymoon!! here are our professional pictures...since we got married away are pictures were ready in 2 days. These are HUGE files so it may take a while to upload. So let me recap on the wonderful day!! The Good: * Well let me start off by saying that our wedding coordinators were the sweetest ladies and made sure that we were taken care of. *My sister did a WONDERFUL job on my hair & my mother did a WONDERFUL job on my makeup. *My bridesmaid Kowana was WONDERFUL and very helpful while I was getting made up. *The flowers were gorgeous...simple, but beautiful. *The ceremomy site was beautiful...we weren't able to choose the flowers, but since we were in a tropical location the flowers fit perfectly *We didn't have to pay for the extra luggage or the transporting of my wedding dress...that's always a plus!!!! *My husband looked FABULOUS in his suit * Dinner was yummy!!! We ate at a seafood rest at the resort and they had a place just for us * The cake was super yummy also * Our pictures were super lovely and our wedding video is awesome!! The Bad: * I didn't get to purchase the wedding favors or welcome bags * The ceremony started late (that was our fault....it took a while to finish my hair) and my husband and best man were outside burning up * We didn't have a pre-wedding run through, so we didn't know what to do at the ceremony The Ugly: Well one of my sisters friends came at the last minute so we couldn't accomodate her...our package was for 10 people and it was already paid for. So I let my sister know about 2 weeks before, and she said well her coming was last minute so oh well. So we are waiting to get into the seafood rest and I let her know again that there isn't a seat for her friend and she said well you should have let me know...i tell her that I did so my husband says this is our wedding and dinner and we did let you know and that my other friend asked if it was okay for her friend to come & didn't assume that we were going to pay for her. So my sister goes off and lets her friend know what is going on. I'm like ooookay and we go inside. Well then my mother starts talking to her boyfriend about how it isn't right (mind you this is our wedding dinner and we are in the restaurant at this point) and I tell her mom we did let my sister know and that we aren't ballers and can't pay for everyone (my sisters friend wasn't there for our wedding just for vacation mind you). My mom goes and say well that isn't right Chineye...now at this point i'm getting ready to start crying....and my husband says well this is our wedding and people shouldn't assume that it's okay (or something like that). We my mom says we i see how you guys are raised (we both took that as an insult...and my mother was the one who raised me so go figure) and that she would pay for my sisters friend...at this point i'm crying in my wedding dress and all....and my husband walks off and leaves the place. Now I am really crying...my mom says I need to go calm him down, i'm like who does this at their daughters wedding dinner over and over again. I mean I am balling crying and am super embarrassed at this point. So time goes on and my husband comes back, but now my mom has left, and my sister is back with her friends. Long story short, I totally understood everyones point of view of the situation, but that wasn't the place for any of the conversation. My sister could have followed up with us about her friend to make sure everything was alright, my mother could have asked if it was okay to pay for my sisters friend, and my husband could have been a little calmer about the situation at the beginning of everything (he doesn't like being told what he should or shouldn't do). So now the once great relationship between my mom and husband is a little strained at this present time (that hurts my feelings). What would i do differently if I had the chance?: * have wedding favors & welcome bags * practice the ceremony * have our first dance * not go to work the day we were leaving...i was sooo rushed when i got off. i cracked my nail and needed to go to the nail shop before my hair appointment & ended up not going. good thing my hair stylist had liquid band-aid that sealed the crack right up and it is still working til this day. |

Our Blessing Ceremony
We got married
Well yesterday was our blessing ceremony. Some of you may be wondering "What is a blessing ceremony?". It's basically our pastor blessing our upcoming marriage. It was really beautiful. The way our pastor did it was he called up the married couples in our church (our church is pretty small) and then called us up ( I was super nervous, since I didn't know what to expect). He told us to stand in the middle of all the couples and they formed a circle around us. He then told us to look at these couples and if we have any questions about marriage to ask these happily married couples and know that it won't always be easy but they will be there help us. So after that all the couples prayed over us while the pastor was praying. It felt soooo good, I started crying. Our family and friends came and enjoyed our church and saw this wonderful blessing of our marriage. So after church was over our pastor married us. Since we are getting married away, we decided to get married before we leave to make sure our marriage will be legal (and so that we don't have to bring very important paperwork). Now only a handful of our friends & family knew we were getting married so it was a surprise to everyone else. I ended up crying...I didn't expect that, but I love my hunny and was soooo happy. So needless to say we are married!!! When we go to the DR we will be doing a symbolic marriage where we will be exchanging our personal vows, I'll have on my wedding dress, flowers, and all the beautiful aspects of a wedding. |

My Bachelorette Weekend!!!
I love my sister & dear friend kowana
This past weekend my sister & friend kowana put together a wonderful weekend!!! Oh this was the glass that my sister & friend kowana got me...it looks like me (curvy, big boobs & upper lip mole) and my other dear friend amber go me the penis straw :O) My day started with lunch on the mountains. The purpose of this was to let the wind blow away any worries, the past, and move on with my upcoming new life. So some of the pictures shows the view of the start of my day. We were HIGH in the mountains, but it was soooo wonderful & we did a lot of meditating and had our own little photo shoot. So after she dropped me off at home, later on that night I carpooled with one of my other dear friends to the hotel for the night activities. So my sister rented a hotel suite and had little finger foods with sexy names: bbq'd dick & balls (cocktail weinnies & meat balls); wrap it tight (pinwheel sandwiches), blowjobs (jell-o shots with whipped cream)...they were yummy!!! After eating my sister had an exotic dancer teach us some sexy moves. Well needless to say she wasn't that good, but we made the best of it...we are a silly bunch of women so she couldn't handle us. :O) From there we had a sex toy lady and they ordered me some nice toys :O) Then we headed to the club!! party, party, party!!! A few of my friends spent the night at the hotel with me so it was like a slumber party!! we stayed up all night talking and laughing. the next morning me, my sister, and her friend went to the roof top and hung out by the pool. that was my weekend!! fun in the sun!!! |

And the countdown begins...
So we are at our 30 day mark!!! Literally 1 month from now I will be a married woman!!! People are asking me if I am ready, or if I am nervous and to tell you the truth I am not the least bit nervous. I cannot wait to become a MRS.!! I am a teacher and I already have my students calling me by my soon to be last name. (I figured it would be too much for my students to start off the year with my maiden name then have to switch) |

Wedding Invitation
I mailed the first batch!!!
Today I mailed the first batch of invitations!!! We have to order 25 more for the people that we wanted to invite, but couldn't before we decided to relocate our wedding. Since we are getting married away we can invite more people to the blessing ceremony (if we were going to have the wedding here we wouldn't be sending out so many invites). So instead of waiting for the other 25 to come we decided to mail the ones that are already done!! |

White Bridal Shower
It was a success!!!
My bridal shower was a success!! They did a good job of making my vision come to life. Oh and everyone loved my blue dress!! I ended up not wearing heels, but a pair of silver gladiator sandles. These are just a few pictures from one of my co-worker friends, I cannot wait to see the pictures from my camera. My sister & friend Kowana made sure that I didn't have to do a single thing. It was pretty hard for me not to do anything but I tried to relax. Almost everyone who RSVP'd came...2 people didn't show up...we had 45 people show up!!! Even my FH auntie & cousin came and they live almost 3 hours away!!! Oh and everyone had on their white outfits!!! You know how some people just cannot follow instructions? Oh one of my friends almost didn't show up because she didn't have white, but I told her that I had some white clothes, so I gave her something to wear. I told her that she is one of my dear friends and she better come. :O) Let's see what else....oh the games were awesome. We had a bridal scavenger hunt with all sorts of items from tame (like bride and groom cake toppers and picture frames) to risque (like condoms, and libido pills) and we even had create a pair of panties for my wedding night. EVERYONE participated & had a ball!!! Instead of having a winner for each game, the guests were given "money" and they had to auction for their prizes. You should have seen them!!! Hmmmmm...the food was awesome!!! and the sangria was the boooommmbbbb!!!! Thank you ladies |

Today is my bridal shower!!!
YAAAAAHHHH!!!
Today is my bridal shower & I am excited yet nervous. Why am I excited? This day is all about me!!! That should say enough :O) I am also excited because this is just the first event that lets me know that I am getting closer to becoming a wife. Why am I nervous? I took an active role in planning this shower & my sister told me not to show up until the shower starts....so I will basically be surprised when I arrive. Because I enjoy party planning I like to know how the finished product is before everyone arrives; so this is a little tough for me. I am also nervous about how my hair, make-up, and my outfit will turn out. It has been SUPER hot in Los Angeles & I sooo don't want my hair to sweat out. :O) I want everyone to have a good time & I am nervous about that. I know I should relax because this day is about me, but that's just how I am. Always worried about everyone elses well being instead of worrying about my own. I am also nervous about the fact that 2 of my bm are preggo (congrats ladies) & won't be able to take an active role in todays activities (you know because of the heat, feeling tired because there is a child growing inside of them, you know all the preggo stuff). I can just see myself doing what they were supposed to be doing & my sister telling me to chill out and relax. Once again it's hard for me to pass the torch to someone else. After all is said and done, I plan on enjoying my day!! I will post pictures soon!!! |
