This is butlertobranco's Blue Wedding!

To keep with our winter theme we decided to go with snowflake wine stoppers as our wedding favors. And for our wedding party we will be giving them a boxed wine set that includes the stopper plus an opener and a bottle of wine with our personalized labels :)

The dress on the right hand side is my bridesmaid dresses, except the dress is in a desert blue and the lace is white. They will be wearing silver flats and simple yet shiny ( as i like to call it, bling bling lol) All the girls absolutely love the dress and the way it looks on them, which is great because all my girls differ in size :)

After months of searching and being quoted ridiculous amounts of money, we have finally found our videographer and booked him today :) One more thing I can cross off the wedding to do list! We got our photographers a couple months ago and are doing our engagement shoot in 2 weeks :) Can't wait! But not sure what to wear :s lol

This is the cake we are in love with so far, including the monogram topper!

Traditional wedding has been thrown out the window when it comes to me and and my fiance lol. Our decor is one of our biggest expenses for our wedding. We are aiming to give off the feel of an enchanted winter night, with lots of crystals, candles, the use of the colors metallic ice blue and silver, and best of all the built in intelligent lighting system that our hall has that creates a dramatic feel all on its own =) We are also using silver chaivari chairs!

The center pieces will consists of the crystal globes sitting on mirror plates with a few small crystal candle holders around it (These are made from real crystal, not the fake ones that some decor centers will try to sell you into for a higher price!) Then we are using 6 small crystal globes for the head table, where the bridesmaids will place their bouquets into. Behind the head table we have designed our backdrop to consists of a very simple and elegant look, using crystal curtains (again real crystals) and either 3 white or ice blue/desert blue drapes that are bunched together with crystal bands.

Our linens consist of a metallic ice blue table clothes and silver napkins. For the head table, we are also using a silver organza that will be draped in front of the head table.

Can't wait to see it all put together!

Hello Ladies,

I have not been here for a while, been busy with the planning and other life events.

All my life I imagined myself to wear a huge ball gown wedding dress and thought for sure nothing else would do. So on my first attempt to find a dress, I took my MOH and my mother and found ball gown dress that everyone kept saying "oh this is the one". Although I didn't love the dress, everyone around me some how ended up persuading me into it and I put a deposit on it :p About 3 months later, after staring at the pictures of it and trying to convince myself that I loved it, I gave up. I couldn't bare to walk down the aisle in a dress that I didn't feel connected to. So I went on a secret mission with a good friend of mine, we went back to store where the owner was nice enough to agree to allowing me to take the deposit and put it on another dress in the store even though my original dress was expected to be coming in over the next week. As soon as I walked to the dress showroom, I saw this one on display and fell in love. It has everything I was looking for! I love the silk and lace mixture and its not to big or simple.....perfectly suited for me :) The owner of the store and I are going to add lace to the train and 3 jewels on the back where the pick ups are.

Lesson learned.....Don't allow other peoples opinions to take you over, go with your gut feeling!

Feb 5th, 2011 is the big date and I am super excited!!!! We are planning a winter wonderland theme using the colors ice blue, silver and white. I want to use little real flowers as they die quickly in the winter and just don't fit in with the theme so much. I am more then likely to use fake flowers where they are needed and only use real flowers for the bridesmaids bouqets. We are trying to locate a hall where we are able to have the recpetion as well as take the photos to decrease transportion time incase of bad weather that day. I love the Royal Ambasador located in Caledon, but have heard they are very pricy, also i don't like not having the option of a hotel being close by again for weather permtting reasons and to avoid guests from chancing drinking and driving. The West River in Vaughan was refered to me by a decore planner I met at the Wedding Expo, I checked out the website and it looks beautiful with exactly what I am looking for, so i emailed them to arrange a date to go view it and talk with one of their reps about different options to have our wedding there. I am hoping for lots of snow :) to make my winter wonderland wedding even that more special! Plus to make the photos unforgettable. We are considering a party bus for transportation for the convience and fun of it :)

Our wedding is not for another 22 months, and i can't imagine how people plan their weddings in 12 months all the time. I feel as though there is so much to research and look at and needing to compare to make sure you get the best for what your money is worth. There are so many different options out there, it can become a bit overwhelming. Wedding planners are a great option, but not what I want to spend my money on, so I have yet to decide if I really need one. From here on out we are going to check out different venues do tons of research and compare everything to make sure we get what we want. We have this summer to play around with all the options, but will need to start setting things into stone next winter when we then reach our 12 month period.

I beleive this has gone long enough lol, so i will leave it from here and from now on write in specific subjects :)
