DIY Wedding
My 1st DIY project!!!

I have seen so many pictures of brides & grooms with Thank you parasols. I love them. So I decided to make one myself to save some money. I chose to make my niece's one first since she has a short name. My FMIL had some left over parasols from her daycare project and gave them to me for $0. Love freebees! Then I printed the font on Microsoft Word. Another freebee! Go to format and use size 550 for the upper case letters and 400 for the lower. You can choose any font you like, I used Brush Script MT. I printed them out and taped them to the inside, traced the letters with a dull pencil (so I wouldn't punture the parasol), and colored it in with a black sharpie.

It only took me about an hour for this one so I'm thinking about 2 hrs or so for the Thank You one.

The best thing about this project is that it cost me $0!!!!!

Hope this helps any brides that were thinking of trying this project. :)

That looks GREAT!! I would have never thought about using a sharpie! That's a good idea. It doesn't look like it but did the sharpie bleed at all on the edges?

To lauren52210, It did bleed a little so you should not outline right to the edge.  I traced it in pencil and used the sharpie inside the pencil traced line.  Hope that makes sense.
