Cory asked me to marry him on June 4, 2010. I had the worst day at work, and each minute of the day seemed worse than the last. He got a few messages that day from me ranting about this or that, and just send back a positive response.
So after work, I decided to go spray tan since he had planned a romantic evening on the Gateway clipper for our 2 year anniversary, and I wanted to look like I had been in the sun! So I went and spray tanned, and to make matters worse, it started to rain. I found someones sweatshirt at the tanning salon and put it on in an attempt to stay dry and streak free!
I was meeting Cory at Primanti Brothers in Moon, since its one of my favorites. He must have called eight times in the 10 minute drive from the tanning salon to the restaurant. He kept saying, "Where are you?!" "I have a spot right next to me!" And on the calls went. Right before I arrived I got a call that the spot was now taken so I should just park anywhere. So I found a prime spot right in the front by the door. VIP service! This kind of luck never happens to me! So as I'm getting out of my car and getting my bag, Cory comes over and announces, "I need to tie my shoe." As I'm getting myself together and trying to stay dry, he bends down next to my car basically cornering me in so I couldn't walk inside. I ask him to tie his shoe in a dryer spot, and he asks, "Will you marry me?" I tell him to quit joking around and we were getting all wet. I begin to push him up from his knelt position. He keeps telling me, "I'm serious!" and asks me again. Still I don't believe him, so good old me states, "If your so serious, where is the ring?" Well, to my shock, the right hand that was "tying his shoe" opens and there is my beautiful ring! Cory claims this is the only time he has known me to be speechless.
He then gave me his little speech of why he wanted to marry me, and of course I said yes, followed by a request to get out of the rain (Hey, I didn't want to be newly engaged with streaky spray tan!).
The whole moment was perfect, and was not like I expected. I could not have asked for a better guy!
