our engagement video
I have been a terrible blogger. I know. I apologize.
I am married!!!!!! My day was absolutely perfect. Actually, the whole week of the wedding was perfect. A great time with family and friends... so many wonderful memories. I could not have asked for anything more. I will post photos of all my completed projects and wedding details when I get the from my photographer (who was there from 11am to 11 pm and left with 150 G of photos... he is amazing!). In the meantime, here is a link to the video we played at our rehearsal dinner. In lieu of the standard picture slideshow, we had our videographer film our engagement photo shoot. We then provided him with clips of old videos from when we were little. He combined the two and the result is absolutely amazing. Engagement Photos
we got our photos!
We just got our edited engagement photos back! We didn't actually need these photos for anything... I just wanted them! I spent a couple weeks before the shoot gathering ideas and props and working on the styling of the whole thing. The planning really paid off! I don't think either of us would have been as comfortable had we not planned out what we were going to do. My fiance was just wonderful and went along with all my ideas. We both had a great time! Our husband and wife photography team (www.chrismoncusphoto.com) was just wonderful to work with. We had a videographer shooting, too. I thought we could put together a little video to play at the rehearsal dinner instead of the usual photo slideshow. I can't wait to see how that turns out!
I have more photos I will post tomorrow (outfit change!). The photos are such large files that they are taking FOREVER to upload. |

Wedding Flowers
making my bouquets!
The past few days I have dedicated to nothing but DIY projects. I thought I could get a lot of them completed, but every little step is taking so much longer than I predicted! Is that the same for any of you??
The invitations I designed have many many steps and have been taking forever! The bouquets, which I am making out of fabric, are also taking a long time. I individually cut out petals, made flowers from the petals, which then were made into the bouquet. lots of cutting. lots of glueing... but I am almost finished!!! I decided to make pomanders because I love the vintage feel of the delicate little balls. The pink and yellow one is mine... it is bigger than the others and has small little crystal beads that act as babies breath throughout the bouquet. The smaller bouquet of pink, green and white is for my bridesmaids. The bouquet looks cute next to the bridesmaid fabric! Let me know what you girls think! |

DIY Wedding

I am not completely finished with these yet, but I wanted to share my progress with you all!
I used white, thread covered wire, white beads and white and yellow paper flowers (great flower punchers in different shapes and sizes are available from martha stewart or fiskars). They were very easy to make and I think they are just adorable. To finish, I am going to add a green leaf behind the flowers and wrap all the wire stems together with white floral tape. Then I will tie a little bow around the stems with thin green ribbon (that is the plan anyway). What do you all think? |

Wedding Gift Registry

A couple weeks ago I asked for online combined registry sites. We ended up going with myregistry.com (thank you sapphire2009!) and I just want to to tell you all how great it is!
Once you create an account on myregistry.com, you are prompted to add a bookmark to your tool bar that says "add to my registry". Whenever you are on a store website, viewing an item you like, you just click on the bookmark and create a listing for the item in your registry. It is so easy and great for people like my fiance and I who are registering for a variety of random gifts. MyRegistry.com is not the store that your guests purchase the items from, but it is the registry that the items are listed on. Through the website, your guests are directed to all of the stores that carry the items listed on your registry. Once they are directed to a store, they complete the purchase at the stores website. They can also purchase a listed item in person at a store location and then take it off your registry online later. I purchase one of the items on our list as a guest, just to check the process. It was easy. The item was removed off the list and arrived at my house. Ok, enough advertising. I should totally be getting paid for this :) |

MOH engaged!
my maid-of-honor is engaged!
I am so very excited for my BEST friend and maid-of-honor! I got to visit her in NY a couple weeks ago and we were able to share our wedding plans and projects with each other. We are very similar and like a lot of the same things, so she is a great person to bounce ideas off of. We both love crafts, so DIY projects will be big in both of our weddings. I am so excited to plan and share with my best friend! horray!

combined registry?
hey ladies, my friend (who recently got married) mentioned to me something about a combined registry. she did not do one for her wedding, so i have no idea of knowing how it worked out. i think the website is www.amazingregistry.com.
the website lets you register at all different places and put it on one list for your guests. i think it would be perfect for us because we do not need a lot of the basic stuff so it would be a little from several different stores. has anyone done this or heard of this?? thanks! |

Ok, so here are the 6 bridesmaid dresses. Too much fabric mixing with the floral print and the pink and white stripes? Never. My sister (matron-of-honor) said she was excited to look like an old couch. I took that as a compliment :)
All the dresses will be short (knee length) so I really don't think it will be too much print. I think they will be perfect for a fun, casual outdoor wedding. What do you all think? |
