Reception Venue is a go!!

First off.. I live in Calgary, Alberta… better known as “Cow Town” Every summer there is a 10 day long rodeo and celebration called, The Calgary Stampede. The whole city is taken over with cowboy fever…. For those 10 days, you are frowned upon if your not in wranglers and adorn a cowboy hat!

After months and months or looking for the perfect venue for my cocktail reception... we (my wedding planner, Lesley & I) have finally found our gem!

I work for a lighting agency, so lighting is important to me in a BIG way! I snubbed a beautiful venue because the ballroom was adorned with lamp shade wall sconces & chandeliers.... no thank you!

This beauty is called the Lazy S, part of the Grandstands at the Calgary Stampede. It’s like a beautiful Gucci pump in a sea of cowboy boots!
A main focus of a reception for me is the ambiance… the lighting, soft seating, private nooks and getaways. We are not serving a supper, but chose to have an evening cocktail reception – a wide open, uniformly lit venue didn’t make sense!

This venue has it all! Soft seating, unique lighting, private getaways, full RGB LED light up wall and bar & wall panels that change the mood!
