I rang my venue yesterday to confirm the number of wedding guests at the breakfast. They then asked me to tell them how many evening guests are coming. I said i wasn't sure but it would be under the 200 limit.
Then they say they have to know so they can work out the price for all of them...
erm what!? They then tell me that evening guests will cost me £6.95 each! (i think thats about 11 dollars) which comes to a grand total of £980!!!!!!!!!!
Now the events organiser at the venue said she told us which is a complete lie!
How they can charge people that are easily going to spend hundreds in the bar anyway.
Now to solve the issue we've had to scrap the buffet for 60 that we paid for when we got the deal because apparently if we have buffet for some we have to have buffet for all which is a joke in my opinion. So now my reception is without buffet.
My MIL is flipping out about it saying we HAVE TO HAVE buffet. I suppose she would like me or my mum to pay for that?! when she has put about £200 in to a £4000 wedding the cheeky cow. Grrrrrrr.....
No where in the contract with the venue they have made this clear and no they spring it on us 3 weeks before the wedding. Im going to enjoy my wedding day and then im going to get a lawyer and sue them i think :)
