So today I ran my first 10k, 6.2 miles! And I ran the whole time w/out stopping. I cant believe I finished. I did it in 1 hour 8 min, which is about a 11 min mile pace. I wanted to try and keep a 10 min pace but there were 7 HUGE hills in the course which came out of no where and slowed me down. Next year I would like to finish in under a hour.
I really want to keep on running eventhough my race is over. Running has really helped me to lose weight and maintain my current weight. I have only been running for 1 year and when I started I could barely make it to the end of my block, but I kept increasing my distance every week and look at me now! At the begining of this summer the furthest I had ran since highschool was 3 mile, but in 2 months I managed to make it to 6.2 miles. I truly believe that with a litte hard work, determination, and motivation you can do anything! I challenge anyone who would like to lose some weight and get in to shape to start running TODAY! Even if you can only make it to the end of the block :)
Trust me you won't regret it!!!
THAT IS ALL RIGHT! I ran track in high school and never participated in a marathon race. Girl, got to give you a hand clap on this one! Congratulations! Yayyyy! Just wonderful!
and it's soooooooo true about the hard work, determination, and motivation!
If u were near me, I would have asked u to be my running partner. Did a 10K earlier in the year and now I am training (just to lose weight like u) for a 1/2 a marathon at the end of November. Ive lost 20 lbs from running!
So my plan is to run a few small 3-4 mile races and maybe to a 1/2 marathon next year in May! We will see
