Flowergirl Basket for my little Diva :)
OK last DIY project for the day I promise, lol :)

I really must give credit to Angela's Fantasy Creations on Facebook because she gave me inspiration for this project. I fell in LOVE with her flower girl basket she posted and I tried to make one for myself. I wish I could have ordered one from her but being on a budget I wasn't able to :(

Her facebook page:

I used a paper mache box as the base and covered it with a wide ribbon. I scrunched a bunch of tulle together and started hot gluing it around the box. This was a tedious AND painful step lol.

I wrapped a navy blue ribbon around it then added a brooch to the side. The pearls are actually a handle from a gift bag I found on clearance. It worked perfectly!

Then I added a small Styrofoam square in the middle and added a few flowers to it.

My little girl LOVED it!!

Our guestbook!
I am so behind on posting all of my DIY projects! This was seriously one of the easiest ones I did. It took me like 5 minutes to put together!!

I found a navy blue scrapbook from Hobby Lobby. I bought the kind without the clear protectors because I plan on adding our engagement photos to the inside along with spaces for our guests to write.

The band is thick apple green ribbon I found at Michaels. I just wrapped it around and glued it on the inside and secured a rhinestone brooch in the center. I also found the navy flower embellishment at Michaels and added an extra little rhinestone button for some extra bling.

I made up a little monogram in Word and layered that over our paper that we used in our invites (I need to post those also lol) and glued it down!

Super easy and I LOVE IT!

DIY Centerpieces
Here are the final centerpieces!! I have gone back and forth on what to do for the centerpieces and final decided on which direction to go. I found the vases at Hobby Lobby for about $11.00 after the 50% off they were having. The flowers are the same ones I used in my bouquet and I used a ton of them!! I will probably have to go find some more :/

I used a 6" (I think) Styrofoam ball that fit perfectly into the vase and just started adding flowers. Once I added all of the flowers, I added three hanging crystal strands with some floral wire. I need to find something more sturdy to hang them though because I am afraid someone will accidentally yank them out.

I have already made 2 and have 4 more to go! Thank goodness we only have 6 tables lol

Ordered my cardigan!!
I took the plunge and went ahead and ordered a cardigan, well 2, for the wedding. I didn't want to waste any time being that the wedding is 2 weeks away so I ordered two different ones from Target.com.

One is cropped and one is a regular length. I plan to add some bling and embellishments once they arrive!!

I also ordered my daughter, who is the flower girl, one that's really similar.

Coverup....Cardigan?!
So here it is 16 days before the wedding and yeah, I'm freaking out a little!! I didn't lose as much weight as I wanted and was looking in the mirror last night and realized I don't like the way my arms look. :(

What do you think about cardigans as an alternative for a coverup? I LOVE them and wear them pretty often so I feel it fits my style.

I found some really cute inspiration photos and I really like the look.

Has anyone seen any pretty embellished cardigans anywhere?!

My DIY Bridal Bouquet
I have searched and searched for months for the perfect tutorial on how to make a silk bouquet. I found a few decent examples but no one really showed how to arrange the flowers! I finally just sat down and started adding flowers and came up with this! I LOVE it! It's amzing how real it looks. I used a combination of anemones from afloral.com, carnations and roses from various dollar stores and a green bunch that I found at Hobby Lobby for 50% off. I think it had some ranunculus, roses and hydrangeas in it.

To make the bouquet, I started with the green bunch and started adding the other flowers around it, shaping it as I went. I removed all of the extra green leaves from the flowers to give it a more clean look. As I was adding flowers, I would wrap the base with green floral tape every so often to hold it together. Once I had the full bouquet, I gave it one final wrap with the floral tape, leaving about an inch at the bottom, and wrapped the base with a navy blue satin ribbon. The brooch was my grandmother's who passed away in 2004. She left me all of her jewelry and I thought it was a nice way to remember her at our wedding.

Hope you like :)

Engagement Photo Advice?!?!?
We had our engagement session yesterday AND although our photographer who did them is awesome, and I just love her, it kind of flopped, lol. We shot at the beach which was a bad location choice on my part! We fought against wind, hair, runny makeup and then her camera battery died. So we rescheduled for the weekend, yay!!

For those who have taken e-pics, what kind of advice can you give me?

Did you give photo ideas to your photographer?
How can we get photos that look not-so-posed?

I just need help!! I want these to turn out great!

Flower Girl Dress!!
It's been a really long time, no post! The wedding plans kind of fell on the back burner because we bought a house in January. We decided to post pone the wedding until November of this year, and surprise surprise, changed our colors AGAIN! We are going for jewel tone colors with a touch of peacock. Excited about the new change! Plus, I really decided that the black, white and green wasn't going to work well with our venue.

Sooo I will probably be selling a few things BUT first, the beloved flower girl dress. I love this little dress but its not going to work with our colors so I have to let it go! Its about a size 2T but is stretchy in the back. I paid about $130.00 for this dress but I am selling it for $100.00 plus $5.50 for shipping. The red is the original dress and she made it in the black, white and green colors.

I know there are a lot of green, black and white brides so hopefully someone will be interested!!

Dreaded Weight Loss
Kicked my...
I have always been a thicker girl and I am ok with that but lately, I have put on some extra weight that I am really not comfortable with and would like to at least get back down to a size 12 (instead of 16)! I don't want to be unhappy with how I look in my wedding photos. My FH has started the Insanity Workout and I wanted to do it at first but quickly changed my mind after seeing what it consisted of!!

So I decided that I would try the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred Workout and it kicked my behind!! I have been so sore since Saturday that I have been barely able to walk, let alone workout! I am feeling a little less sore today so I'm hoping to give it a try again tonight! I really need to take before and after pictures so I can see the results so I guess I'll get that done soon! Wish me luck =)
