Pack 'er up boys, we're changing dates.
date change.
We're moving.. date & years! After a lot of thought by FH & I have made the decision to move our date to 2012ish. I got to thinking, I won't 100% get the Wedding I've always dreamed about, if we have the Wedding next year. I will be just finishing up school during "wedding crunch time" and FH will be just starting school that September. We're still pretty young, me being just barley 20 & him turning 22. & currently, we live for free in my Grandparent's basement & while we get our lives together. That being said, for us, want to buy & not rent. (nothing againsit people who are doing this- to each thier own) where are we going to live after the wedding? [side note: my gp want to sell the house - its too big for them now, after I'm done school & our "lease" is up in May or June, depends on if they sell before we can buy] It`s very important for the both of us to have a nice home to move and-or already have.
So what we were thinking is that, if we postpone the wedding by one year, we can save up put a downpayment on a house for next May & move the wedding to 2012. I can finish my schooling & he can start his, we should be making about 6 figures a year, & then we`d have more money saved and we can both have the wedding we wanted without the stress of ` where is that coming from` (I know we alll have those moments ladys!) I`ll still be kicking around cause weddings are now in my blood, but I`ll keep you all posted :) xo |

Ask a Question
[ i wanna do what?!?!]
Maybe, it's cause I'm at a stand still for the planning, but I know I'm keeping my theme , but now I'm thinking maybe I want it outdoors or even maybe I want in the fall or winter. How bout a Friday, make it a party , but yet I still want it classic. I'm driving myself crazy! Maybe, its cause I haven't been able to any of the DIY, maybe, I'm at a creative stand still.
GAAAAH. Anyone else feeling like this? |

Purple+Damask= ?
Have I mentioned lately, how much I ? damask?! this is exactly what we're having at the wedding! [the purple is represented by the fact that we met while I was wearing a purple trucker hat ] and the black and white is because it has this simple elegance about it! [credit to mrshtobe for the picture; even though, I think secretly it was for me, HAHA]
On an even better note: I'm on my Reading Week [aka; March Break for college kids, aka; wedding planning week] also while we're not the topic of that - my MOH is comming for 3 days! We pick her up on Sunday night. Eeek, also MOH & another BM and I (of course) are going dress shopping! WOOOT. super excited for that! -- and I'm still working on the venue stuff as well, because, of course I have thought of a million other places I may have it. But hey, like I said, my MOH is coming up, three soild days of wedding [ & no I do not feel bad for Mr. R at all. Why? Well, he WAS the one who asked me to marry him & well his sister = my BFF.] |

Ask a Question
NMWR: Just something that I have been thinking about for a while now.
* not MY wedding related*
Ever since, I saw The Wedding Planner with J.Lo when I was 11, I had an a-ha moment. I knew as of that day, that's what I was ment to do. I was always organized, paid waay to much attention to detail, and Barbie always was marrying Ken! But when I looked into going to school, I found one school that offered Event Planning - but it was post Grad. Ever since I started on our wedding planning journey, I realized I realllly enjoy this - could I maybe do this as a career?! So I googled "wedding planning courses" and I found one for $400.00 that I can take in the summer. Of course I consulted the two people who would give me honest opinions - Mom & J. They both said to go for it since it's something I want to do. It's going to take a lot work to get myself out there but I think it's worth it! What do you think Girls you are my second family! |

Wedding Reception
First Tour of a venue & it could be the only?!
So we went for our first tour :) and FH says it could be "the one". Instead of blabing on ill do a breif of each picutre :)
Picture 1 & 2: A old castle that is in the area and thats all that is left. I wish I could get better and closer but "no tresspassing" I'll try in the spring if we do choose this place ;] Pictures 3 & 4: Is the stairway in the foyer, which I'm so in love with. The stairs go up to the guest rooms & the stairs down go to where the reception and dance will be. (see pictures, ) Picture 4: the really cool coloum in the foyer & behind it is the front desk! Picture 5-8 is the dinning room where our guest will mingle after the ceromony, & number 7 is one of the fabulous views of the falls from the dinning room & number 8 is just the really cute fire place :] Pictures 9- 14: where the reception will be held, bar down stairs. Picture 11 & 12 are the DJ corner and a bit of the dance floor. (they have been watching the Olympics down there Picture 15: is the upstairs bar which can be used for odurves? I couldn't take more pictures since there was another couple in there and I didn't want to disturb them. Picuture 16 is a picture of a picture of what the falls will look like in the spring :) Picture 17: is the terrence where our guests can go out on. Pictures 19-25: are all Winter shots of the falls. In some you can see the ice over the running water. Picture 26 & 27: is the front of the Inn. eeek. we're very excited and hopefully this is the "one" :) |

And last but not least; my first venue tour is tommorow - so I'm SUPER DUPER excited :) I just realllly need to find my camera charger! Well, thats all for now, talk to you ladies veryyy soon ;) |

Ask a Question
Big vs. Small Weddings?
I swear everytime I come on here, I'm frustrated or re thinking or downright depressed.
But this one falls under re thinking. (As said in a previous post, my money tree is dead. So I found a way to cut the cost up to $4000.00. Yes. Thats a lot of money. So lets shoot some numbers here ladies. BIG SPENDER WEDDING (the quotes were all very simliar so I took one and copy & pasted) Ceremony Fee: $500.00 Meal: 103 adults @ $35 per adult = $3605.00 27 children @ $17.50 per child = $472.50 Cake Cutting Fee: $ 65.00 Cocktail Hour Food: $650.00 Midnight Buffet: $545.00 Cash Bar Service: $200.00 Wine on the Tables: $748.00 Rentals: $ Not sure if required at this point In-House Rentals: $ Not sure if required at this point Sub Total: $6785.50 15% Gratuity: $1017.83 Taxes: $897.08 Estimated Grand Total: $8700.41 (* it is actually $200.00 or so cheaper since the numbers are messed up) BUDGET DIVAA WEDDING Food; 105 people @ 32 pp = 3100.00 Hall rental= $295.00 + 100.00 Sercuity Deposit (get it back) + 50.00 Deposit upon booking. total: $3545.00 plus linens + napkins. (less than 500.00) |

Ask a Question
Anyone know where I can get a little easel?
I love the idea of this. I think that is a super cute and it's something I can do now. Well type it up and all that and I'm thinking puting on a nice card stock and setting it on an easel.
I have no clue where to buy an easel I don't want it to be too pricy since it will more than likely be used for the one day. Also; I think I'll change the font color to purple :) What do you think?! |
