14 months!

We are officially 14 months away from W-Day... see what I did there? It's like D-day, but with a W.

So where does it look like we're at? Nowhere!! As a matter of fact, the closer then one year mark gets, the bigger our regular debts get. As it is, we're not sure if a wedding next december is even feasible. But, I'm determined to have my day... dammit!!

I had my dress picked out, but I may have changed my mind...still thinking about it. Then there's winter wedding halls in toronto, planning for bad weather, where to do pictures where we won't freeze to death, etc..

There's also a culture issue (He's Portuguese, I'm an Irish/Scottish hybrid). We are expected to live up to or out-do other family weddings on his families side and there's NO way we'll be able to do that on our modest incomes. He says going to the JP would be shameful and I would have to agree, knowing how informal and sterile those offices are. I may just be selfish, but if I'm only doing this once, I want to do it right.
--No I don't mean crazy elaborate horse-drawn buggy stuff, but a nice chapel and a pretty hall I'm allowed to decorate (who knew so many of these places don't allow outside decoration?!!) with family and friends to see us on our way into our future as a couple.

I'll be using this blog to update and change as I see fit... I am a woman, after all ;)
