The Wedding
The wedding turned out to be wonderful with a few minor issues. Ladies make sure that you plan, plan, plan because most likely, if you are like me, you will only do this once in your lifetime. It's horrible when the wedding is over and you still wish you would have done something different. Still keep in mind that nothing will turn out perfect, so focus mostly on the things that are really important.

Wedding Invitation
DIY
Ladies I got them done and I am very very proud of my work. I love making crafts and I am more than happy to help anyone who likes my invitation for their upcoming wedding. Although it took a long time I would not change my mind on doing them myself rather than paying if I had to do this all over again. I had to trace and cut 250 of these. I am very detailed and meticulous when it comes to my projects. I used velcro to seal the invitation (from Walmart 80 sets for 6.50), I used a silver heart embellishment as a small decoration (100 for 3.00) and I cut the actual pocketfolds out of posterboard size paper (Papers-paper.com). I decided to add a touch of creativity by making a small booklet that contains all of the information that the guests need to know including the directions with a map. All of the printing was done using printing press extreme software I bought a while back. I also bought personalized stamps of me and my honey (not shown) on stamps.com. I believe it was only 2 cents extra per stamp to do it. I loved doing this and I look forward to doing it again. That is, after my wedding of course! :) Anyway take a look and tell me what you think.

Attire
Bustier
Ladies, I'm not sure about you but I know that David's Bridal was not going to get anymore of my money. I looked online and there was another bride who found this bustier for a very very reasonable price. The name of the company is milili so if you are interested just search milili on ebay. The bustier is similar to the ones sold at Davids Bridal. They should all be under $30 depending on what you get.

Bridesmaids
Shoes
I had a contest for my bridesmaid because I absolutely hate shoe shopping. Anyway the contest was for them to find the perfect shoe for their dresses and whoever won would receive a prize. Turns out that this is the shoe that won and the prize was that I paid for half of the winner's dress. The color will be silver and they were only $40.

Church Still Under Construction
OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!
They have not even laid the foundation to the church yet, and I am getting married in 47 days. Ladies I am definitely stressed. I have not sent out my invitations because I don't want to put the wrong address. We have a back up but I really wanted to new church. The pastor will let us know for sure this Wednesday whether it will be done or not. I am so scared at this point. Not to mention the 3 online classes I'm taking this summer and working overtime. I should have just eloped!!! Would you stick it out and wait for the church or would you just go ahead with the backup church? The reason why I want to get married in the new church is because it is being built with rooms specifically for the bridal parties and groomsmen to get dressed in and we won't need a limo to take us to the church, we would just need a one way transfer to the reception. We have never seen the other church. I'm torn because I've seen a house go up in days and our church is not going to be made out of brick. What to do. What to do. I definitely do not want to send out my already printed invitations for fear that I will have to send out notifications to everyone about the changes in location and I'm scared that if I use the backup church, our new building will end up being finished.

Frustrated
JUST NEEDED TO VENT!!!!
I am so upset with a few of my bridesmaids. Ladies trust me you really will find out who your true friends are. I have some bridesmaids that have every excuse in the world to not participate in activities that have been planned. One insists that she will not be able to participate in anything but the rehearsal and the wedding. Which means she will not be at the bridal shower along with one of my cousins. I sent every bridesmaid a planner with a tentative calendar of every important date. One keeps saying she has homework when events are planned two and three weeks ahead of time. Why can't she do her homework before the event? To top things off I bought all of their jewelry and my coordinator and matron of honor told me its not elegant enough. I understand that pearls represent elegance but I feel that rhinestones will work better with their dresses. You tell me. One flat out said its ugly and it's going to make them look like kids. I'm really trying not to becme a bridezilla, but they are pushing it. I understand that they have their lives to live also but what upsets me so much is that they seem unphased about it. They don't even call and try to explain things to me. It is very hurtful.

DIY Wedding
Wedding Favors for Guests
I finally picked the final favor. It took me so long and I have changed my mind so many times. At first I wanted to do candy in a box divided into 3 (see below). Then I wanted to do these cute little jars filled with candy (3rd picture- can be found at Party City for very reasonable price), until I saw these cake towels. The only problem with the cake towels was that it was so expensive to order all those towels (2nd picture - very expensive). So then I just decided to do these cute little pillow boxes filled with candy and the Love is... comic by Kim Casali. Here is the link for anyone who wants to do pillow boxes: carolynsstampstore.com/catalog/templates.php. I gathered all my bridesmaids at an icebreaker and we all made wedding favors. We had so much fun reminiscing.

Save the Date
Magnet
Our save the dates were wonderful. I went through a lot to create these but finally got it done by the inspiration of a particular website that sold magnets. He was a cute little baby!!!! I was happy that his aunt was able to provide this picture. He had lost everything during hurricane Katrina and she was the only one who had a baby picture of him. Anyway I found the design and made it my own and uploaded the pictures to www.freshimpressions.us. They did a wonderful job and I feel they were very reasonable. The first company I went with was horrible. I tried vistaprint.com and I thought that my pictures came out darker than normal but that was because you have to lighten them before you send your pictures in. Depending on what you want, you be the judge.
