The Wishing Tree
So, I came across this cool idea to have instead of a traditional guest book. It's called the Wishing Tree. It's pretty much a tree that you can make yourself (or buy it, if you really want to...), provide little personalized paper with hooks, your guest write some advice or wishes and then hang it on the tree. You can then scrapbook them or put them somewhere where you can read and reflect on them, as if it were a guest book. But I think this idea is so much more unique and fabulous!! I definitely want to have the crystals involved and I want to spray pain the branches silver to go along with my elegant and classy theme. I also want to incorporate roses somehow, like it the third picture to the left of this post. Anyways, here is the site. I thought I would share it with you brides :)

Bridesmaid Shoes?
Hey girls! So, I am on the hunt for preferably satin (pretty much anything but felt material) comfortable high heels for my bridesmaids but I can't find a pair that catches my eye anywhere! They can be a heel or fancy sandal, as the wedding is taking place mid-July. My bridesmaids are spread out over Canada (Ontario and one in Alberta) so they need to be available to try on for all of them (so, preferably from a nation-wide store). Any ideas??

Man of Honour
So, I am having a Maid AND Man of Honour - the Man of Honour is my best friend and cousin who I have grown up with since we were babies. We are only a couple of months apart in age and super close. I know this is totally not "traditional" and my fiancé's family isn't too fond of the idea, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. So, my question is how should my Man of Honour walk down the aisle? Should he come in last, kinda like one last surprise before I walk down the isle? Where should he stand? Beside my Maid of Honour, who is my best girl friend? I am open to any ideas :) My Man of Honour is totally a people person and is down for anything. He's awesome :)

Wedding Flowers
Roses are red..
My flowers are going to be deep scarlet red roses (what could be more fitting for a red theme?). They are my most favourite flowers in the whole wide world. Honestly. So beautiful. I am going to be pairing them up with breathtaking white calla lilies. Take a look!! Of course, I want to add my own personal touch to these, but I am yet to figure out what..

Accessorizing
To match the Swarovski crystals that make up some of the sequence on my Amanda by Maggie Sottero dress, I thought it would be more than fitting to have some Swarovski crystals jewelry to go with it! Check out the pictures! The Diamanta necklace is almost like a choker-style necklace..so elegant and blends really well with a strapless wedding dress. My theme is elegant, classy, yet simple so I really think this shows the elegant and classy side of me.

Wedding Dress
The name says it all.
I got my dress!! Oh Maggie Sottero, your designs are simply beautiful and stunning. The dress I chose (literally a month after I got engaged..purchased a couple months after the engagement however) is Amanda by Maggie Sottero. I do realize that my dress and I share the same name, which is completely hilarious I think. And no, this is not why I chose the dress. Funny enough, my mom was browsing Maggie's website (we are in LOVE with her dresses!! They are ALL soo beautiful!!) and thought it would be cool to check out her dress called 'Amanda'. When she clicked it, I fell in love with it. We searched high and low to find one to try on and finally, we found one. It was instant love. With the sequence (with a hint of Swarovski crystals, might I add), material, and overall fit of this dress, I knew it was perfect for me. I purchased it at another shop here in my home town of Brampton, ON because it was cheaper and alterations were included!! Check out the pictures - I am in love. Ps. The dress I ordered is white, so slightly different from the pictures (which is apparently Light Gold according to the website, but it looks more on the Ivory to me).

Bridesmaids
The ULTIMATE dress!!
So, all of my bridesmaids are different shapes, sizes, and skin tones pretty much. For me, finding a bridesmaid dress that everyone agreed on was more challenging than finding a wedding dress for myself!! At a Bridal Expo at the International Convention Centre in Mississuaga, ON, I came across a company called Henkaa. They make comfortable, one-size-fits-all dresses. At first, the whole one-size-fits-all thing was kinda sketchy to me. But I gave it a shot and it is honestly the best dress EVER created!! All of my girls loved it. So, we are doing black dresses (the red they offer is a little too cherry red for my me - I'm more of a scarlet red kinda gal) with red heels!! Here are some ways that you can style the dresses (see pictures to the left). Each bridesmaid gets to choose their own style so each dress will look completely different (minus the material used..obviously) but really, it's the same dress!! It's also very affordable (approx. $98 CDN without taxes) and the girls can definitely wear it again for a multitude of occasions!! You can also get a matching tube top (or another colour if you wish...) if you want as well for a more modest look, which is what we chose to do. They are my fiancé's cousins and they are oh so very talented.
