Inspiration Post
Happy friday lovelies. Most of you probably wont know me, but I am a Veteran WBC bride whom married almost three years ago now and am happy to report still happily married ;) I pop in from time to time to see whats up and see if a few of the last girls on here that were planning around my time are married, such as the beautiful and most wonderful Mrs. Browncurls. I am patiently waiting for her to share all her beautifulness from her wedding day! I've noticed WBC has changed so much since I was here. It use to be so busy and full of zestful brides, great conversations, support, and ideas. Now it seems so quiet. Not to say that some of you don't do the same, but surely the community is so much smaller now. I remember the days when you'd post something and it wouldn't last on the home page for more than 15 minutes. Now the same posts last for days? I wonder what happened and why the sense of community has been lost? I really wish I knew a way I can change this and show the brides getting married now how great this site really can be if we all come together and comment, offer support, and post regularly. I know this is going to sound mega cheese, but honestly, I often tell my husband that if it wasn't for WBC I am not sure i'd be where I am in my life right now. At this moment, I am happily married, I still have some great WBC girlfriends whom have become my personal friends and whom I talk to on a weekly basis, I am a very proud owner of my own successful wedding Etsy shop that will be celebrating it's 3rd birthday this month, and now I am venturing into the wonderful wedding industry of Photography. WBC has been so important to me, and really inspired me to get back in touch with my creative side that seemingly was lost some where along the way. Last night I helped my girlfriend Photographer that I will be second shooting alongside this summer bring her booth together for our local Wonderful Wedding show. Watching all the vendors and women like myself work so hard to give life to their ideas for their booths was so inspiring, it kind of felt like planning a wedding all over again. It is so different on the other side of not being a bride and attending one of these shows as a vendor. Hopefully something I can be doing in the next year or so! Like a bride planning her wedding, most don't see the sweat, tears and probably no doubt a little blood that is shed going into each booth by these vendors. I got me feeling thankful in that moment, because I know that somehow a small part of WBC and the community of wonderful brides I met had some small butterfly effect on my life and where I am today and where I plan to be in the next few years. So where else to post my thankfulness and thoughts but here on WBC where i feel like I owe some of that to. I'd really love to see WBC become lively again, who knows, maybe it could affect someone else like it did me! I know I probably wont receive any feedback but that's alright. I just wanted to share my thankfulness in the Digital realm where hopefully at least one or two people might read it and be inspired to post more comment more and do the things WBC needs to become the wonderful place it has been and potential is has to be once again! xx Have a great weekend ladies! |

WBC Improvements
Do you notice any?
I am not sure if it's just me, but is anyone else noticing the site seems to be moving a little faster when clicking on others posts from the home page? I recently commented on a brides post last week about the lack of comments and also the vast decline in the bridal community in terms of support, posting, and commenting. I suggested that a big part of it had to do with the fact the WBC seems to be running terribly slow these days? Was anyone else experiencing this or was it just me? In the last week I have popped in a couple times since then to comment on blogs etc and noticed that it no longer takes 2 mins for the post to load, a minute for me to read/comment, and then another terribly long 2 minutes for the comment to actually post. If WBC somehow made changes or improvements to the site, than this is great news and certainly an improvement to encouraging brides to comment (even quickly if possible) more often. Most of us don't have the time to spend 5 minutes per post just to add a comment which leads me to believe that it just may be why there has been a lack of commenting in the first place. Hopefully this is the case and things start improving for you girls. I still do find that signing in takes what seems like light years before it actually logs me into my account? Anyone else finding this? If so, I hope WBC can also work on that issue too in hopes to keep this blogging community strong for you girls! Anyways, your feedback would be good - I know the WBC team tend to read in on posts (at least they have in the past) when it comes to suggestions about their site! |
