Wedding Rings And Jewelry
I just fell in love... with a ring!
One thing I've noticed since I became interested (obsessed) with the wedding world, is that people put endless emphasis (and funds) into getting the perfect wedding dress, but you rarely ever see the ring. I mean sure the dress is what you get married in, but the ring is what you will wear the for the rest of the ring. It's what shows the world that you've found your love and committed to them. To me.... the ring should feel right.
My fiancee bought me a stunning engagement ring. But once we started looking for wedding rings, we realized that nothing really looked alright with it. It has a really high setting, and 3 stones, and everything just looked...... wrong. We've been looking around at rings for a while now, and basically every store tells me I'll never find a match. I might as well get a custom. The recomendation is usually to get a custom that looks just like my e-ring, but with 4 stones. While this sounds like it would be fine....... it just didn't excite me. at all. This weekend we were out looking at rings, finding the same old stock, being told I'll need a custom, when I saw a different looking ring in the case. I asked to try it on, and it worked! it was a bit 2 wide, so I'd need to have 2 diamonds removed but otherwise it was perfect. However, it turns out the ring was from some special designer and the square stones were some special cut, and it was REALLY expensive. like shockingly so. *sigh* however, we decided to head over to talk to the custom jewler I'd been meaning to visit, and I gave him the idea, and he's going to do for me, for a price we can afford, less than half of what the original ring cost (and honestly, the price I would have guessed that ring was haha) with 18k gold and really, really nice quality diamonds. I am so excited! And all my excitement about a custom ring got FH on the net as well looking at rings. And wouldn't you know it, but he had a fabulous idea for a custom ring of his own based 2 rings he saw he liked. Now he wants to go talk to the same guy and get his custom too. I am so pumped for our awesome future rings! yay! |

Wedding Invitation
save the date
I have been looking around for a while for inspiration on save-the-dates and invitations, and I love the movie poster/retro sort of look. I decided to give one a try! I downloaded all the fonts at www.dafont.com, and I'm really happy with the results! It's not quite centered right, but I think it's a great first try.
I was also browsing through michaels the other day, and found some brides.com program sets on clearance. They were $55 on for $15 so I snatched some up! I wasn't sure what I was going to do for programs, but these should be pretty easy to complete using template. yay! Anyone else designing there own invitations or save the dates? |

little bits of progress
So..... I have been having trouble getting good pictures of stuff lately (man I miss the summer light!) but here goes!
Centerpiece mockup - my intial plan was to pin these to a styrofoam ball, but as the photo shows this doesn't work. I'm thinking about gluing them to floral stems and making them bouquets Shoe clips - I am planning to glam up flip flops with these. they are vintage earrings I got from etsy. Necklace - my necklace wasn't looking great, so i took it apart and remade it with some better wire and a better clasp. I'm a lot happier with how it looks now. And it works for something blue! I'm planning on making a bracelet with a vintage brooch too. I love checking little things off the list......... every time I do there's a few less things to freak about later! |

swooning over etsy
*disclaimer: this post was going to be way cooler, but I couldn't figure out how to get any of the pictures to show up in images. I kept getting some weird file error*
So every time I think I have the wedding ideas all figured out, I find a billion more. Today I was thinking about dancefloor decals, and got into an etsy search. This led me to happily ever after decals, to happily every after..... well....... everything. All I can say is that I love etsy and unhealthy amount and could drop about 1k there without even thinking. It's dangerous for me. Here are the wondeful things I found today and LOVE Happily ever after favour tags http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31650062&ref=sr_gallery_3&&ga_search_query=happily+ever+after&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=date_desc&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title ADORABLE save the dates (plus you buy the file so you can do your own via vistaprint which is my plan) http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31677102&ref=sr_gallery_5&&ga_search_query=save+the+date&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=6&order=date_desc&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title Dancefloor decal (sucha cute idea) http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=30048009&ref=sr_gallery_5&&ga_search_query=dance+floor+decal&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=date_desc&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title And, my new favorite saying (ha!) of love, laughter and happily ever after) http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=30695187&ref=sr_gallery_9&&ga_search_query=happily+ever+after&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=5&order=date_desc&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title What sites give you inspiration? Wedding date
What's up with all the date stealers?
So a while ago we found out that our "friends" had stolen our date and are refusing to move it. I was over it by now...... that's life..... but on sunday I found out that my bro in law is supposed to be in the wedding party for their good friend/old roomie on the SAME date. And this morning I found out that SOs oldest friend is supposed to be in the wedding part of another wedding, also on our date! He will be crushed about her not coming, and for bro-in-law I'm sure my sister won't want him to miss ours and he won't want to miss his friends. What a mess! I feel like that booking early was useless because everyone is using our date anyways! We made sure to check with all our wedding party for conflicts but I guess they didn't....
Anyways just needed to get that off my chest! *end rant* |

Ask a Question
Would this be a nice monogram?
So I've had this big complicated idea in my head for a while of what I want my monogram to look like. I've tried to figure out how to make it, but haven't been able to quite get it right. Then I had a custom stamp made through Ebay, and the seller sent me a preview of what it would look like. And I love it! So now I'm wondering if I should just use this for my monogram. What do you all think?

DIY Shoe clips
Hi everyone! I love shoes with some kind of jewels or something on them. But if you can't find a pair you like, why not make some DIY shoe clips! I was inspired by this pair I found on vintage glam blog. You can use some vintage clip-on earrings, add some feathers or whatever you want. Etsy has an amazing selection of vintage earrings a lot are quite inexpensive. I have my eyes on a few pairs right now!
Any other ladies personalizing their shoes with shoe clips or other accessories? |
