Honeymoon
Parksville...
A few photos from our wonderful mini honeymoon. We went to Vancouver Island to a small town called Parksville. We got a GORGEOUS honeymoon suite, which was more like a condo and cooked most of our own food and basically played house without the kids for 3 days! The place had a soaker tub in the bedroom which we made good use of and it was just what we needed and more. One of the nights, I made reservations at a 5 star seafood restaurant at a resort called The Boathouse. It had fish aqauriums throughout the restaurant and the food and service was magnificent, We polished a couple bottles of wine that night! One of the days I want to try out the Spa @ which was amazing! I went in there for a $20 polish change and was there for nearly 3 hours. I took advantage of the mineral gratto pool which was like swimming at millionaire's home and then proceeded to have a rainfall shower just to sit and relax while I drank tea and ate fresh fruit. I got my polish change in a relaxing massage chair and nearly fell asleep...walked back to our place and was in pure relaxation mode, felt like royalty! We spent a lot of our weekend spending our gift cards from the wedding for household things. Which was sooo nice considering we NEVER would have gotten any of those spent with our 2 kids at home and with work etc. We always watched the sunset on a quiet beach and watched the tide come in. The whole time we were there, we both loved it. I cooked us a few romantic meals in the suite and romantic late night snacks...it was seriously the perfect honeymoon for us! We are going to take a second honeymoon in the near future, before we have another baby hopefully. We also went to this park to see these MASSIVE trees, but before that - went and had a pub lunch at this sight seeing town, where they also had goats on the roof! It was weird, but cool LOL.

Ask a Question
What do I do???
So, Jamie and I started doing our Thank You's for the wedding gifts and such, and there are a few people we think we may have lost cards and can't track back any gifts from. What should we do? I don't want to offend anyone by not giving them a thank you for their specific gift. I thought we were pretty organized with writing on the backs of cards and didn't think we misplaced any cards, but now I don't know what to do!??

Wedding Advice
While it's all still fresh...
1. First and foremost....enjoy every moment...it flies by faster than you could imagine.
2. Do a flower trial before your special day - specially of your bridal bouquet. 3. Get more than 4 hours sleep. 4. Don't fuss over wedding music (other than first dance, mother and father dances and bridal entry - the rest are barely even noticed by the B&G). 5. Don't waste more money than you have to on a DJ - as long as you've had a meeting and been in contact with what you want and don't want - you should be able to find a reasonably priced DJ. 6. Mentally and emotionally prepare yourself for your speech (if you don't want to bawl like a baby). I had troubles at my brothers - really bad. But this time, I started preparing myself to take hold of my emotions so I could channel my energy and not just break down. I kept this in mind for a long time...I really think anyone can get through it with a decent amount of tears. 7. Don't make your own cardbox. Apparently, no one even used mine cuz they couldn't figure it out. 8. Don't have an open bar. We had a cash bar - and we still had a lof of our guests super rowdy. 9. Don't worry about the weather. 10. Don't drink too much before pictures...you'll get a silly smile! 11. If you are doing your own makeup - do a makeup trial on yourself - just makes things less stressful! 12. Make sure you mingle and at least acknowledge every guest at the wedding (we didn't have a receiving line). 13. Arrange a babysitter for your children under 6 so your parents can enjoy your day just the same as you! 14. Get the mood and party started, by doing a lot of dancing to show guests what type of wedding you and your hubby want it to be! Hmmm....that's all I can think of right now! Good luck to all of your weddings and lives together! :D |

Mr & Mrs Hellam!!!
A lil' photo preview etc...
So everything turned out pretty good! I only got about 4 hours of sleep the night before, and 2 hours the night before that! It was pretty brutal! Our wedding flowers were pretty crappy too! I don't know what she did with it, but they were basically wilting - anyways, I'm so mad about it - I almost don't want to get into it again! Everyone had a blast and I held it together with the tears pretty well, unlike at my brother's wedding LOL. We went to Parksville for our honeymoon after and we had so much fun! Anyways, here's a few sneak peeks...more to come soon!

I cannot believe the days is finally almost here! Everyone we know is soooo excited for us & so are we!!! I wish I had more to post on wbc - but I'm all done everything LOL. Just need to pack for the honeymoon!

STAGETTE/SHOWER PICS
50's Pin Up Stag/Lingerie & Pamper Shower
We took a limo to have dinner at one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver and then went to a Comedy Club where they roasted me on stage which was hilarious!!! Then we got VIP at a club and danced the rest of the night away! I also met Lauren (she's so awesome!) and Scoot from "Peak Season" at the bar!!! It was soooo great, they didn't make me do or drink ANYTHING I didn't want to do and it was sooooo classy and tack-free for a Stagette and that's exactly how I wanted my last night out!!! Woke up with barely a hangover too!!
My shower was just as awesome as my stag...I had such a great time and I think everyone else did too! You can read up on it more below, I added some pics from it in this post! |
