What really matters
Your dream wedding
Every girl imagines what her wedding will be like and it's beautiful in her head. It becomes her goal to make her vision a reality. The reality is that the wedding is just one day.
At the end of the day no one will care whether you chose those blue napkins or the red ones. What will matter are the people who supported you through everything. Is your wedding for them to help you celebrate this exciting moment and everything you have all gone through together and the next step into the unknown or is it really just about the bride? I am from a family of 14 kids. 9 of which are adopted from other countries. A large family meant my parents can't pay for my education. Through hard work and earning some scholarships I am able to complete my time in school to get my B.A.. My life is blessed with the wonderful people I met through different volunteer opportunities: working with problem high school students, reaching out to student in Australia, and teaching English in China. The love of my life is studying to be a pastor so we will never have very much money. I am giving up the little things like a wedding cake, sit down meal, ect... because what really matters at the end of the day is being able to celebrate taking the next step of our journey together surrounded by the people who have loved and supported us in our relationship, lives, and aspirations for the future. God Bless! I hope you have a wonderful New Years! |

Ask a Question
What song is playing as you go down the aisle?
Ok so I really should be studying for my final tomorrow but I just wanted to ask...
What song are you going to have playing when you walk down the aisle? Will it be the traditional bridal march, instrumental, something more modern? Hoping for some inspiration! I look forward to seeing your answers. :) |

Engagement
Pictures on a budget?
If you are on a budget it doesn't hurt to see if someone in your family has some talent behind a camera and a good quality camera!
I was thrilled but a little bit uncertain about the engagement pictures because my FH and I are really good at taking bad pictures together. We already decided to ask my Sister-in-Law to take the pictures. Although she is not a professional photographer she did an AMAZING job for my sister: (I put a couple of her pictures next to the blog) She did a wonderful job and I couldn't be happier with our engagement pictures: |

Honeymoon
Where oh where?? Europe in California?
My fiance and I would have loved to go to Europe for our Honeymoon but that is just not in our budget. Even so we do not want to end up in some flee bag inn in the middle of nowhere for our Honeymoon so we have been looking at different affordable options.
What we want: -Affordable -Cute -Away from everything -Things to do and see -Nature -European Influence(if possible) What I found: Groupon and LivingSocial can have AMAZING deals if you keep checking. But then you are really letting your Honeymoon location be determined by what shows up. Plus many of the packages are limited to 1 to 2 nights. You also have to be careful to make sure that the deal matches up with you honeymoon dates. We decided that we are not as into beaches but more so into mountains and areas where we can hike. When I was talking to a friend of mine the City of Solvang, CA came up. It is a Danish city located between L.A. and San Fran on the California Coast, smack dab in the middle of wine country. Things Solvang has: -Hiking or Horseback riding -Wine Tasting -European Style Village (and food!) -Local places to visit and see: miniature horse farm, ostrich farm, theater, Elverhoj Museum of History & Art, Hans Christian Andersen Museum, Restaurants, Shops - Coast -Red Rock Swimming Hole (Santa Barbara) It provides a convenient way to feel like you are in a different place without going far from home. Hotel prices were also very affordable although you do have to look around. I'm not sure yet if we will end up going here but it is a good option. Other great places for a honeymoon in California: San Diego San Francisco Coronado Island Catalina Island Julian Big Bear What are some things that make up your ideal honeymoon? |
