When should I book my make-up trial?

I think its too early to do a trail. You definitely should look at photos for make-up and hair...you usually the trial no earlier than 6 months prior to the wedding day.

i agree with glamdive, i think its too early... u might change the look of the wedding, some colors or something that will impact your hair or even a new hairstyle u like! hold off for a while

If you have booked your venue AND found your dress AND you know what your attendants are wearing, thenby all means start doing some research into make up artists. The best thing to do before booking with a make up artist is to check out their previous work - anyone reputable should have no problem with you viewing their portfolio (which they Will have) without any commitment on your part. In addition ask for details of previous brides and actually contact at least 3 to get personal recommendations, and find out how the artist was on the day of the wedding to match up with what you want - some artists are chatty, others will keep you calm - a good one will fit into your schedule with barely a ripple. Try to narrow yourself down to 3 possible artists, then hold off booking your trial until about 6 month beforehand. At this point follow up to get quotes - do you want the whole bridal party to be done, or just you? Will the artist have to travel? Etc... All these factors should help you narrow it down to one person. Hope that helps.
